I know we had a thread about her pre wedding escapade.... but now it has become a legal issue.
Runaway bride Jennifer Wilbanks was indicted Wednesday on two charges of lying to police about being kidnapped — counts that could mean up to six years in prison.

I'm not too sympathetic to women that pull out of engagements.

She wasted alot of valuable police resources which could have been put to good use helping solve actual crimes. Lock her up...

I agree, but locking her up will cost more money. I say make her payback the costs associated with having to look for her.

Good point - drag her out behind the courthouse and shoot her.

wow

I agree with renekkPH !!
She either should do time (or community service) and/or pay for EVERYTHING she caused. This includes the generous volunteers' time, gas expenses, flyer paper cost, etc.
Everything.

"I don't care" was not an option. So I voted for number 3

I agree. This woman obviously has issues..... Better for the community if she's forced to pay back ALL the costs and do a SH*TLOAD of community service, especially in schools, promoting the police department.
The real surprise was that the grand jury indicted on the felony charge..... She really p*ssed those people off..... baaaaad idea.....

I say charge her. There's a big difference between cold feet and a nation wide search with the police and your parents fearing that you are dead.

She broke the law. She called the police and made up an abduction story; detailed down to the ethnicity of the kidnapper (which if you live around Duluth, you'll understand why that alone is a serious issue).
Have daddy dearest pull out the checkbook. If they could afford a wedding that was estimated to cost around $500k, he's got enough cash to cover the $160k the city claims to have spent on manpower.

I agree 100%. She should be charged and tried. But if convicted, it might be better to hit her in her (or Daddy's) seemingly substantial wallet than to send her to jail. Send the wedding $$$ to the city and get married by a justice of the peace...

I can understand cold feet-it happens. but call and tell family you are ok, and that you just need some time. What she did was irresponsible and it is appropriate for her to face these charges.

no jail time.
community service equal to the cost of looking for her.

Isnt she a nurse? If convicted she would lose her license I would think.... in FL she would.
