wondered why i couldn't get a hold of a friend for the past week. finally get a call back from her.....

a week ago as she's walking up to her apartment door, keys in hand. as she goes to unlock her door she got grabbed by a meth-head who is on his first day of parole and already in trouble with the law. the tempe police are chasing him, so he grabs her as a hostage puts a knife to her throat and forces the 2 of them into her apartment.

luckily for her she was on her cellphone using her earbud headset talking to her best friend in L.A. the guy to too high to realize she's on the phone and her friend hears everything that's going down, so she calls the L.A. police 911. the L.A. 911 operator then links in the tempe 911 operator who then links in the tempe police who are in pursuit of this guy. so for the next 2 hours they keep her on the phone clandestinely getting her to answer their questions by coughing and other ways, all the while the guy still has a knife to her throat. finally the tempe police swat team locates the right apartment complex (there's 4 uberhuge complexs, one on each corner of the intersection). break down the door and storm her apartment. she's freed unharmed, he's caught and the whole 2 hr ordeal is recorded on the 911 tapes.....

she's home with her family and getting some help....

he's facing attempted murder, kidnapping, B&E, drug possession, and parole violation charges.....

OMG - I had something close to this almost happen to me a couple of weeks ago - but I was lucky the cops were already in pursuit of the guy and actually drew down on him right in front of me!! I was able to run into my apartment safe but so aware of what could have happened "if". I'm so glad your friend is ok and hope that the trama she had to go thru will not effect her permenantly
