We are going to the show. We are traveling in from Saratoga Springs. NY. First time in Toronto. We have seen him every year since '91 at either Jones beach, Hartford, Great Woods, or Madison Square Garden. Counting the days until the 13th! What is the venue like to anyone who has been there before? I'm guessing it might be like Jones beach as it looks like it is right on the water.
Giddy up!

The venue is in Ontario Place, an amusement park close to downtown Toronto...you can walk to it from the streetcar.
There are a few bars there to while away your time until our tailgate-substitute (no boozing in the tiny parking lots) the Corona-sponsored "Canonch Republic" opens at 3pm.

Tailgate?
Any news on when the lots open? I've heard that there is no self-brought booze allowed - will there be licensed vendors in the lots?

TO Show...
Just thought I would let you know that while tailgating is NOT a Canadian past time, and carries a fine of $175, unofficially, there will be lots of there early! The last time Jimmy played TO, 1996, there was also "NO TAILGATING"...it was quite the party...similar to Pitt. If nothing else, the WNY Parrot Heads will be there in full force...stop by and have a Margarita or Hurricane!
Fins!!!
Fins!!!
American style tailgating will not be allowed at the Toronto concert.
You cannot bring in your own alcohol to the parking lot or anywhere on the grounds of the Molson Amp. or Ontario Place. (There will be nothing to purchase in any of the parking lots of Ontario Place/Molson Amp.). You will be able to purchase at any of the restaurant facilities on the grounds or if you attend the "tent" party (Ontario Place prices). Canadian liquor laws are very strict and unfortunaetly they do not allow tailgating. To fill the void of no tailgating, the Toronto PH club have provided the tent tailgate party on Ontario Place grounds. Not the parking lot but in a tent inside the gates of Ontario Place. The TO club have called it "Canoch Republic Tailgate Reefer Style". Corona & another PH Club are also sponsoring another pre concert Canadian Style Tailgate Party at Jakes Grill & Oyster House in Burlington with coach bus transportation to the concert for $20.00 per person. Not many seats left on the buses though. Should book soon. Many people are driving from Jakes also. Party starts there at 2pm Buses leave for concert at 5:30pm. (You could attend tent party after Jakes party). Coolers provided for beer etc on buses. Corona has supplied prizes and are bringing the Corona Hummer. Jakes will have coronas at $3.95 (approx. $3.25 U.S.) and boat drinks will be $4.95 (approx. $4.00) plus heard that possibly there will be pails of Coronita specials too. Cheeseburger specials will also be offered. Don Middlebrook is the entertainment that afternoon. Don has played at numerous Buffett functions all over North America including MOTM the past 10 years. Jakes is large facility and the owner has already inquired for additional liquor licence facilities to be added in the parking lot if needed. Drive to concert should take approx. 1/2 hour depending on traffic. Also, because the venue is on Lake Ontario, it can get very cool. Bring warm clothes for the concert. (Ski jacket might be needed). There is also a party on the 12th at Jakes for $25.00 (Canadian prices) per person, includes all you can eat buffet, one corona or boat drink and Don Middlebrook plus one raffle ticket. If you are interested in the Hamilton Parrothead Club/Corona sponsored events contact Mary Griffiths at mango@mountaincable.net or hamiltonparrotheads@hotmail.com or call Mary at 905-385-1612. Next door to Jakes is a Travelodge that is offering a $69.00 (Canadian) hotel room. (Ask for Parrothead rate) (905)639-9290 Plenty of parking too at Jakes for free. Think parking is $15.00 or more at Ontario Place. Lots of choices to have fun. Pick the party that works for you. Unfortunately you will not find real tailgating anywhere at this concert.
