Parrothead Cruise 2006?

Ok, who else is going?

I had the time of my life on the last one, so I'm already signed up for 2006! I think the best part is that no matter whom you're rooming with, you can always find new phriends if they need time to nap (or they can find new phriends and you can nap without feeling guilty!). Plus I can say that I spent my vacation helping raise over $30,000 for breast cancer research (That shut the people complaining about us up pretty quickly!)!

I'm going to have to see if I can fit this in the budget for next year! I'm looking to move around that time so I'm not sure I can do it... :-?

It's so much fun- and from what I can tell, we get great rates. Patti's thinking about it too, but we'll see. At this point I have a balcony stateroom to myself (I'm not emotionally prepared to admit that I'll be single then).

I'm almost positive they will have daycare on board the ship, but I don't know if they'll accept a child that young. I would call Stella (or Brent, but I've always talked to Stella) and find out what they think- they're awesome! When I called to book (bear in mind I've spoken to them at most 5 times on the phone and met them twice), and she instanly said "Oh hi, didn't you just get back?" They'll guide you in the right direction.

I did check the website, and there's a $200 price break for PHs compared to the amount listed on Carnival's site. But I do have one issue- I want to take all of the excursions!!!!

Well, he's young enough that he won't remember staying with Grandma and Grandpa, so you won't traumatize him or anything (I just have a cat, so that's the best excuse I can come up with!)...

It books quickly (it's already 1/3 booked just from people who went last time and Atlanta club members), but I think there are usually cancellations (the website says there's a 19% cancellation rate). I think it's a $300 pp deposit and then the balance is due in December, and it's all refundable until then, so better to book early and get in than chance not getting in.

I leave in a week for a 10 day vacation--just hubby and me. Sort of a belated honeymoon. The longest I've been away from my oldest was when she was 18 months and it was for 6 days. The longest away from my now 16-month-old was 3 days.

I've been a total basket case about it, but I KNOW I'll have a great time and my kids will be in safe hands (my MIL). Hubby originally wanted 2 weeks. I wanted 1. So we settled on 10 days. Yeah, I'm nervous, but everyone I know, trust, and love has said I need to get out more and it will be good for everyone in the long run. Sooo, I'm just gonna s*ck it up an believe them and have the best vacation I can have.

That's my two-cents.

That's right, i remember reading that...

We have left him with the IL's before, so far only for 4-5 days. This will be a bit longer for all of them. I just have to keep working her, i'm sure i can convince her..
