I know there has been a lot of rumors going around about Jimmy playing at Alpine. I received an email from the General Manager of Clear Channel Entertainment and it is posted below:

"With Buffett playing two shows at Wrigley this fall, they have chosen to pass up playing here this summer. We tried to get him and would love to have him play here, but unfortunately, it didn't workout that way.

Sorry about all this, but we do look forward to seeing him back next year."

Well it looks like we will all have to wait for next year.

Thanks for the info, but many of us around these parts have known for a while now that Alpine wasn't in the cards this year.

Wait a minute. He's not playing Alpine this year?! Someone call the AP!

They must be joking! Jimmy never skips Alpine!

he plays Alpine? I didn't know that? When did he start adding new venues to the tour?

With the money that the tribune threw at Jimmy, he would be a fool to pass up the $$. One of the sticking points was Jimmy could NOT play close to Chgo. You can stil buy tickets to see Jimmy at wrigley thru the cubs scalpers, but it would cost you a lot of $$ This way the tribune will make a hell of a lot of money.

I figured there are a lot of people that already knew this. However I am sure there are a lot of people like me that were holding on to hope. I just thought I would pass on the offical word since I received the email from the General Manager.
