Sorry it's late but I was off Friday and didn't go anywhere near a computer all weekend.

Jerry Jeff Walker did a solo show at B.B. King's Blues Club in Times Square last Thursday night. No, Jimmy Buffett didn't show up. He did bring a special guest out about halfway through the show, somebody named Nick Holmes. I never heard of him but JJW said he was an old friend. He did 3 songs, I didn't recognize the first 2 but the third one was a great cover of Tom Waits' "Jersey Girl".

Jerry Jeff was great, as usual. He did a new song, I don't remember the title, but the chorus went:
Oh Lord I wish you'd reach down and smack a few
Extreme religious dickheads who say they speak for you

I don't remember the whole set list but he did, in no particular order:
Woman In Texas
Trashy Women
Navajo Rug
Sangria Wine
Mr. Bojangles
LA Freeway
The Cape (I think that's the title)
I Feel Like Hank Williams Tonight
I'm An All Right Guy
and a few others that I don't remember

If you ever have a chance to see JJW, run, don't walk, to wherever he's playing.

Thanks Larry for the report!

Carol and I are going to see him Friday with his band.
We saw him last year and can't wait to see him again.

I always enjoy Jerry Jeff. It's neat to see what COVER songs he will do and make his own in time.

The latest best cover song he does is Dare of An Angel. It is actually a Shake Russell song and appears a new live CD, called "Island Night" recorded last Dec. 7, in Port Aransas, TX. @ The Third Coast Studio/Theater.

JERRY JEFF WALKER has been performing ''DARE OF AN ANGEL" in his live shows and the song appears on his just released new DVD ONE AND ONLY.

Well it's not really just released...it's been out there over a year. Good stuff. Wish we had one of Buffett like that.

I understand Jerry Jeff has done another live DVD at Stubbs with Pat Green.
