James Taylor will be the guest on the Today Show on Tuesday. Today they showed photos of him at home and on the road. They showed him in a swing with one of his twins. His wife was pushing the other twin in the swing. It was a touching little piece about their life at home.

Tomorrow should be a great show. Wish I could be there.

The musical guests on the Today Show are on in the 8:30 half hour. They've been starting a little later this year than in the past, sometimes closer to 8:40. It's across the street from my office so I'll be there.

I hope it sounded better on TV because from across the street in front of the buiilding where I work the audio was terrible. He did Shower The People and Sweet Baby James and I could barely hear the lyrics. I didn't like the arrangements either, they sounded slower than I remember. Summertime Blues sounded a little better but that doesn't strike me as a JT-type song.

I just found the link on JT Online to the replay. You are so right. I have never heard a slower version of both Sweet Baby James and Shower The People. Shower lasted so long that they cut to commercial during Arnold McCuller's solo.

I see JT has a new female background vocalist who plays violin. That was a new touch. David Lasley was obviously NOT there. I had read some discussion about David and Val not being with James anymore.

The man did a stellar vocal performance tho.

I haven't been to a JT show for a couple of years myself. This year the closest he got was Dallas on a weekend I coudn't go...or I would have.

I have only been going to see James since 1995. I went to very few concerts at amphitheater/theater venues before then.

I have left every JT show thinking it was good, but enough. There was only one show that WOWed me and it was with the Houston Symphony. His shows certainly don't leave me feeling like I do when I see Buffett. I guess they leave me feeling mellow mon.
