Houston Fan and Ohio,
LM is still probably searching for someone to
read to him our responses. It must really tear
up these buffett bashers that we're all on the same wave lenght and having such a good time.
It shocks and saddens me that anyone taking the
time to find this site and read it would post
the negative stuff they do. I'm not a CM music fan, but life is too short for me to waste my precious time searching out those fans' sites and
being a jerk with nasty postings. I will continue
to try to stay my pleasant self (it takes so much
less energy) and ignore the ramblings of unhappy
adolescents.

Hi guys -- Yeah, I live in Houston, & it's starting to feel like summer here. (I'm used to it by now, but I thought I would surely perish during the first summer.) Actually, Houston's not bad & used to have a fair amount of culture (well, sort of) before we disappeared from Jimmy's summer tour schedules!!

GaBuffettFan -- where near Houston did you live? If you were out at the Woodlands, you could have walked to the shows during the good old days.

Hope everybody's had a good Tuesday -- I'll be VERY happy to see Friday roll around this week (like this is not true every week).

p.s. I realize that this is not exactly scintillating stuff, but I sort of enjoy these 'how's your day?' posts with the regulars -- I think Elizabeth makes a good point about not wasting negative energy of some of this stuff (though, sometimes, it is SOOOOOOOOOO much fun if you can get off a good shot.....)

But I've promised to try to be -- well, tolerant wouldn't be the word -- better about ignoring some of the dinks that post here trying to get a rise out of everybody.

You know, I don't ordinarily pay attention when it pops you back up to the first post in a topic when you go to enter a message -- what a hoot!!! This one's all over the map --

gabuffetfan -- please keep me posted on your travel to Houston. I live & work in the Galleria area, so plenty of stuff around here to do. I'd be happy to buy you a drink. In fact, any of the regular folks, let me know if you'll be in the area. Offer stands.

Hope everyone's having a pleasant day.

p.s. It's the 'Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion'. I once worked for the Mitchells, so it's indelibly printed on my brain. I was once on the stage playing a nun?!

WD,
I used to live in Houston. It was in an apartment
complex called "The Chimneys" off of Bissonet
and the cheat death freeway (the 59). The Galleria was awesome. It took me and mom 3 whole
days to see it all. My favorite store was "The
Mad Hatter". Is it still there? Are there still
Weston Hotels at each end of the complex?

Yes to the latter, but, even though I work two blocks west of the Galleria, I've been here long enough that I avoid the Galleria proper like the plague. I do go into the Dillard's across the street a lot, though. After Marshall Field's shut down in Houston, Saks moved into their Galleria location, so the Macy's /Saks access isn't TOO bad (if one must go in at all). Recently Neiman's had a promotion (sending you something for a significant discount if they think they're not seeing enough activity on your account), and I'm a sucker for that sort of stuff, so ventured in -- I do it about once every two years to remind myself why I don't ordinarily do it. & YES, I bought enough to get the discount, which, knowing how Neiman's operates, probably got the overall price somewhere down around regular retail.....
