I finally figured out what the real problem was with the concert.......It was in the Northeast. Being a southerner, Jimmy should not like those Yankees.

Parrot Monkey wrote:Ok, maybe I used the wrong word and/or your taking it to seriously here, it’s just misleading that’s all. You really don’t need to keep nailing me with that quote.

Something inside me tells me that Jimmy isn’t really the Jimmy we all think he is. I recall a few months back when someone posted a link to photocopies of the packet that’s given to concert venues before he performs there. I know all artists can be like that, but man were there some demanding things in there, and I’m not talking about how much Pepsi is needed in the hospitality room or any of that. Before anyone tells me “Welcome to the music industry” of anything of that nature, just know that my view of Jimmy drastically changed after doing the research I did.

But, it’s not like I’m perfect or is anyone on here. I don’t really have anything against Jimmy, I love his music and know he’s a great performer, but so things about him just are not true that he wants you to think are.
You call someone a liar, and you'd better have facts to back it up.....

His requirements for a show are pretty standard. Not over the top, at all....

Music is a business. Get over it.

Either way.......The problem with the show is that it would have been much cooler here.

I didn’t say he was an all around liar, just in this instance he was misleading big time.

I really can’t pinpoint my true problem here. It’s not with Jimmy really…

I dunno. I never felt his music was really appreciated in the right way, and still isn’t. I always thought the whole Parrot Head culture symbolized that the only reason Jimmy wrote and performed music was for people to party to. Besides Margaritaville, and maybe Come Monday somewhat, he never had any hits at all. That disc with the yellow cover is the sole reason the other 8 or 9 of the 13 on the album are at the popular state.

His concerts sell out all the time each year right?
Than if he does so well, how come none of his album or singles ever make the top lists in, say Rolling Stone magazine? I find it quite offending they couldn’t find a place for his songs anywhere in there. I think He Went To Paris is a song that should have been at least in the top 50 songs of all time list. A-1-A should have been somewhere in the top 100 albums… It’s almost like the only reason he ever went into the studio was to record the “rehearsal” tapes to the “parties”

I just don’t feel that the music the man makes is done justice, and I get on his case because it appears he’s not doing anything to help it. But who cares right? That’s what he wants, and music is a business, right?
:-?

Speak for yourself. For as much as any of us can know him, he's exactly the Jimmy I expect.

Its called a "rider" and its well within the realm of reasonable.

This is why I think you'd do well to take in internship in the business somewhere... you obviously have a passion for music and artists, but your idealsm keeps you from truly learning how things work and understanding why.

You're judging the man against your unrealistic expectations and as long as you do that, you're going to be disappointed. Frankly that's your problem, not his.

There's a reason its the "entertainment" industry.

One lesson you'll learn in life is to say what you mean and mean what you say. You said, "He lied to us." You said he was a liar. I don't even think he misled us, honestly. Nevertheless, if you felt he misled us, that's the word you should have used. Calling someone a liar is fightin' words in my book, because it questions a person's character. And in my book, character counts.
