Sorry if I'm bringing back horrors from high-school english class  , but I recently read A Streetcar Named Desire and thought of this...With respect to Mr. Jimmy Buffett, I hope you like it!

She claimed in a loud voice to be a schoolteacher,
But I don't think she's taught a class in years,
Listens to the Victrola for her answers,
Slowly guzzling her sister's beers.
She talks about the men she's known and then some,
She's seen them in her dreams andin cars on the street,
She slides her dapper legs from beneath the table,
As if to reaveal some kind of treat.

There's a woman goin crazy on Elysian Field Street,
Stoppin every man that she does meet,
Sayin if you be gentle, if you be sweet,
I'll take you to my place on Elysian Field Street.

Her lover died in her arms in Mississippi,
And right now she can't quite recall his name,
Perceiving she is the center of attention,
And all the lurking eyes they look the same.
Well the weather's got the poker players in a frenzy,
They're all horney and don't need a good excuse,
Someone yells and things start erupting,
In a New Orleans moment, all h***'s broke loose.

There's a woman goin crazy on Elysian Field Street,
Stoppin every man that she does meet,
Sayin if you be gentle, if you be sweet,
I'll take you to my place on Elysian Field Street.

When I woke up and looked around the bar room,
She was in a mental asylum and I was black and blue,
So be careful when you swing your partner,
Cause someone just might take a swing at you!

There's a woman goin crazy on Elysian Field Street,
Stopping every man that she does meet,
Sayin if you be gentle, if you be sweet,
I'll take you to my place on Elysian Field Street.
