Todays shopping list- 7 cd's and 2 pairs of Flipflops
Just got back from the "evil" Wal-Mart...2 pairs of flip-flops (I've now got 11 pairs)...I also purchased 6 Hank Jr. cd's...I asked about box sets but the lady didn't understand what I was referring to...duh...I almost bought the first season of Dragnet...is Jack Webb not the straightest stone-faced actor of all time???...I had a Del Mccoury cd in my hand but grabbed the reggae Willie cd instead...half-way through it I am very pleased with it.

Yeah, the Union I belong to is supposed to be boycotting it, yet if I were to stand outside one on a saturday I would see many many of my union "Brothers and Sisters" shopping there, that is basicaly why I gave in and go there once in a great while myself, Won't buy music there though, I do not like their policy of demanding censored versions.

Walmart having censored versions is fine with me being that kids don't need to hear a lot of the cussing especially in hip hop.
In short, buy your kids cds at Walmart and yours somewhere else.
The censored versions have came in handy for me when I deejay parties where children are present.
That being said, I bought David Allan Coe's greatest hits cd there and he drops an N bomb in the song "If That aint Country"
Guess they can't get em all.

This is my own personal viewpoint but I don't believe in censorhip of any especially when it comes to records. Buffett's albums have their fair share of profanity on them but I don't recall ever seeing them labeled with a Parental Advisory sticker. That's pretty much the crux of it right there. I like to be the one that choses what I allow my kids to hear, NOT the PRMC. Hell, they're so out of touch they even slapped one of those labels on a Frank Zappa album because he gave them so much hell during those PRMC hearing several years back (along with John Denver and Donny Osmond). It goes to show they never even bothered listened to it because it was an album of instrumentals (Jazz From Hell).
