It lead to checkpoint #1 or Assasin's Gate because of all the car bombings and sniper fire. Just a fun thing to make the most dangerous street in the world into a Parrothead Playground.

BG, I'm going to do all of the cookies this Saturday.

I'll package them up into little packages in saran wrap and pack em up.

They will be out to you on Monday, Aug 15 so you have ample time to get them into the bags and ready to go. I will be doing sugar cookies and peanut butter cookies, because they will keep much better than anything chocolate.

Can you PM me that fed ex account so I can get them overnighted to you?
Cooking is like love. It should be entered into with abandon or not at all..

On my wanderings today I visited the Vermont Teddy Bear Co. and found a new friend named "BuffettBear" who I'll send to Iraq (along with some other goodies)...his board shorts are way too fun! Once I add a lei, some sunglasses, and maybe a couple of other things to get him completely decked out, he'll be ready to serve as a door prize(or whatever).

Another update...the Buffettfest will take place on September 17 and September 18 at two different camps within the Green Zone, allowing more troops to be included in the fun. Still waiting for a best guesstimate on total numbers...CrashD7?? :D

In the meantime, keep up all of the good work!!

With the "expansion" to two camps, I am expecting between 400-600 over the two days.

I got a PM from Big Phan. She reminded me that she didn't take the picture of SOASOAPT in the river - that came from Quiet and Shy.

I have an electronic copy, and I will take it to a photo print shop to get a good copy. I'll also take some of the other pictures I have, and mail them to springparrot. I will try to mail them tomorrow, no later than Friday. We're both in TX, and things often get delivered overnight...
It was a pleasure and a hell of an evening
Truly was our night to win
But the authorities insist on my leaving
Take care my American friend

Unlike from Ohio to Texas where it takes 6-7 days...

Name tags left Ohio this a.m. via priority mail. Should get to BG no later than Saturday.

Thanks again to 7lords for sending the "set-up"!!
