I told ya I was going to deny it!
I have no doubts that Iraq qould be a really cool travel destination once the bombs stop going off. There's so much history in that part of the world.

Just thinking out loud - I see Gulfbreeze posted a picture of the poster for Buffett Fest in another thread. Any chance that the people here stateside who helped out could get the equivalent of a BN nametag with that logo on it? I have no computer graphics talents but if it can be done I'll volunteer to pay for supplies and postage.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

Crash doesn't want the logo used for anything other than the event itself in Iraq - at least for the time being.LIPH wrote:Just thinking out loud - I see Gulfbreeze posted a picture of the poster for Buffett Fest in another thread. PHINdy to Iraq, with fun
Local Parrotheads will party tonight when their hero, Jimmy Buffett, performs in concert, but they also have helped organize what's surely the first-of-its-kind Baghdad Buffettfest, set for next month in Iraq.
It all started when PHINdy Parrot Head Club member John Jackson asked local Buffett buffs for help. A civilian contractor in Iraq since July, Jackson works for Kellogg, Brown and Root, a division of Halliburton. His job involves "maintaining and creating entertainment for the soldiers serving here in Baghdad," according to his recent e-mail.
Jackson, Indianapolis, has been thinking about organizing a Buffett bash since he landed overseas. Local club members, including founder and President Tamara Harrington and board member Sue Rearick, helped spread the word to the vast network of Buffett fans across the country. They responded, as did Buffett's restaurants, Jackson reports.
Beads, decorations, music, door prizes and even a 6-by-10-foot, 200-gallon swimming pool were sent to Baghdad to add to the Margaritaville atmosphere planned for Sept. 16 and 17.
Jackson is already thinking about an Indianapolis 500-themed soiree for next May. You can learn more about the Indianapolis club at www.phindyphc.com.
Oh...I also noticed this:
birthdays of note
Lawrence S. "Bo" Connor, former managing editor of The Indianapolis Star, turns 80 today. Marion County Sheriff Frank Anderson will turn 66 Thursday. Happy Birthday Bo and Frank
