Buffett in Strange Places...
So far on vacation I have heard Buffett in unlikely places...
The first was atop Tarzan's Treehouse where a version of Apacalypso was playing (I don't even know if that was his song originally), but there it was. Then, today at Sea World in San Diego we heard him twice: once at the end of the Arctic exhibit we heard CILCIA and we heard another song at the restaurant where we at at Sea World....but now the song is escaping me...it's not anything SYKBH and I'd have to hear it again to know that's what it was.
Anyway...it's always cool to find hidden Jimmy's when you're not expecting him. What's super cool is that Victoria pointed it out all three times. Yay for the keet!

How is the Old Key West resort, btw?
Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

sea world in orlando has a "key west" area. where the dolphin and sting rays and other like animals are, anyway. The music there is about 70% Buffett, almost 3 out of every 4 songs was Jimmy, and oddball stuff too. Not even sure if i heard any SYKBH. Needless to say, lunch, supper and every break we could was spent in the key west area.
I studied the life at sea, I studied the life in bars. Never passed my S.A.T.s so i thought I'd study extra hard.

OKW is actually one of my favorite Disney resorts. Although it lacks some of the "Deluxe" amenities, it is still very nice, clean, and friendly. And it actually does bear a resemblence to Key Westjonesbeach10 wrote:How is the Old Key West resort, btw?

I remember reading about that place when I was wedding planning. Is it part of the Orlando resort or is it separate? I could never figure that out.prrthd1987 wrote:OKW is actually one of my favorite Disney resorts. Although it lacks some of the "Deluxe" amenities, it is still very nice, clean, and friendly. You know, it's really great though....I used to keep my stress level at work down by singing Buffett tunes to myself at work. Now I hear it all the time, and don't have to keep it to myself!!! I'm busier than I've ever been, yet more relaxed....RinglingRingling wrote:Duuuuude.... up the meds. well, like Jimmy said in CMH last year, "If I forget the words, folks in Ohio will just sing them ahead of me". Evidently you've been singing so long, the voices just took over...CaptainP wrote:You know, it's really great though....I used to keep my stress level at work down by singing Buffett tunes to myself at work. OKW is absolutely beautiful... It's considered one of Disney's "home away from home" resorts. It's part of the Disney Vacation Club.. They're like timeshares, but anyone can stay there. My family owns in the disney vacation club and we stay at OKW every year when we go down for our family vacation to disney. It's my fav. resort. And I love sitting by the pool because every other song is a buffett song (even though it's just SYKBH). But it definitely has that key west feel to it.... And the accomodations are beautiful.... The grand villa can accomodate up till 12 people and include a full kitchen, great room... and it's 2 stories... love it....
I just stayed there in June when i went to Disney... I love being a cast member... I get amazing perks!!!!
How is the Old Key West resort, btw?

Last time I was at Holiday World (local-ish theme park in Southern Indiana), while in the Water Park I heard 3 songs of JB's... One was Kick it in, Second Wind, the others, I can't remember. I'm thinking This Hotel Room? and something from the 80s maybe.
As a side note, there's going to be a new roller coaster there. Wooden roller coaster with steel supports... the smallest hill on it will be taller than the tallest hill on the other 2 roller coasters, and the first drop will be 150 ft with a 60 degree tilt. There are also 90 degree turns. Its about a 3 minute ride, almost reaching 70 MPH. www.holidayworld.com is their website, check it out! (the new coaster is: http://www.holidayworld.com/new2006.html)
