The wrong sausage

Do you ever have high expectations from your sausage, only to be disappointed? Such was the case for me and my husband last night...
We took a package of Italian sausage out of the freezer for dinner, and hubby grilled them up on the ol Weber. I picked up some Gonella sausage rolls to enjoy them on, we sauteed onions and green peppers to put on them, along with a little mozzarella.
Then we bit into them... and they were brats! Ack! Brat fixins are entirely different - sauerkraut and Secret Stadium Sauce on a hot dog bun! Very, very odd combo, and sooooooo disappointing!

Hotdog bun
Not for a good brat, my dear. Sure, they'll do for Miller Park brats, but you need to do better when grilling at home

I actually do prefer the "Brat Buns" that I've only found at The Pig... Piggly Wiggly of course!

Once hubby accidentally put brats in homemade spaghetti sauce thinking it was sausage. Yuck, gross. I don't like brats.

I soooo know where you're coming from darlin'. I hate when I don't get what I'm expecting from my sausage. Especially Italian sausage.
We usually get Johnsonville to make Italian sausage sammiches, but Boulder (hippy) Sausage was on sale once so I bought that. Nasty nasty nasty stuff.

I don't either. I just tell them, "Smile for the milk carton" and they tend to leave me alone.
