In-N-Out is not a franchised burger joint. It is still owned and operated by the same family that started it. It is not franchised-you can't buy a franchise nor can you buy stock. It is also a privately held company. 8)
sorry. I took it on faith that someone in one of the market areas knew they were franchised. I was going more for the analogy than anything.
