How much does a Coral Reefer make?
Here's a topic, how much does a Coral Reefer make? I'm sure people like Utley, who have been with JB forever, make the most. Do they get paid per appearance or draw a yearly salary?
Jimmy must pay them well 'cause he's had very little turnover the last 15 years.

Hey Mike..It was on here, and not that long ago....
Joe's right...It brought up some things that ...well...it didn't end nicely..
Understand your question and your curiousity...but it really didn't go over well.....

It's kinda like, none of our business.....
How many of us would post how much we make..... Some, yeah, but not most of us....

Sooo Mike, I assume you have a job, what do YOU make? I personally think salary is between employee and employer, if you choose to advertise it that is your choice, but most folks don't.
We have Coral Reefers who read and post here at BN. I'd like them to still feel that they can do that and not have every aspect of their lives scrutinized. We enjoy their presence here and I'd hate to lose it over a topic such as this.
Or maybe you're just finagling for a job. I don't think there are any openings at the moment, but ya never know.

So-when you hire an electrician to do some work for you, or a mechanic to fix your car, do you ask them how much they make per year? You pay them alot of money for their services too. I don't see how paying to see a performer and his band play, or purchasing their music, entitles you to know how much money they make per year. Just my not so humble opinion.

I don't see the big deal but did expect the big pile on. They're like celebrities anyway, well to us. Heck there are shows on tv about these things.
I guess it's okay to wonder or know what Jimmy makes but not his band?
Nothing wrong with being curious, especially if we pry into almost every other aspect of "the man's" life.
But then it's not like anybody would actually know.
That said, I'd do it for free

Holy Cow!!!! I love this board and read it multiple times a day, but you guys really lost a lot of respect on this one. Why on Earth would you give this guy such a hard time for asking a very honest and "good" question. I don't believe he was asking for credit card numbers or social security #'s. Invasion of privacy????? perhaps none of our buisness, but since when has that stopped curiosity especially when it comes to the salary of the movie stars, sport stars and other celebrities that we love to give our hard earned money for the entertainment that they provide. Even if you had a problem with giving out a $$$$ amount, he clearly asked how they get paid (per show, per ticket sold, ect.) If you don't know the answer, then say so or don't respond at all, but why make the guy feel like he asked a taboo question. Why is it OK to read how much JB grossed in tour sales this year, and not wonder how much of that our favorite band got. We all know the talented musicians that make up the CRB, it was also stated that the turn over rate is incredibly low, how does JB do that?
I guess i kind of see myself as a stock holder in JB enterprises, sure i don't really "own" anything other than memories, but anytime i get the chance to make a new "investment", i jump at the opportunity.
And yes (at least in my eyes) the CRB are celebrities, not to JB's degree, but celebrities none the less. They happen to make up a large percentage of my favorite celebrities, how is wondering if they are taken care of taboo or an invasion of privacy. Just my 2 cents worth.

I studied the life at sea, I studied the life in bars. Never passed my S.A.T.s so i thought I'd study extra hard.

USM, go back and read Mike's first sentence, he clearly asked how much they make.
I think we can all safely assume they are "taken care of", to use your words.
Truthfully I don't give a rat's ass what celebrities make, I'm not sure why people care.
I'd like to treat the CRB members who are also members here like everyone else...and I don't ask anyone else what they make. I just find the whole thing in poor taste.
