After having one "no play, no pay" release by the newcomer Jimmy Buffett it is no wonder that Barnaby Records "lost" the masters to this album.
Most of this album needs more work than it got. The best songs on this cd are "Ace", "Travelin' Clean", the comical "Hang-out Gang", and "In the Shelter" and "Livingston's Gone to Texas", the 2 songs that would get refined and appear on future albums. Sadly, the rest of the album is hardly worth mentioning.

1 1/2 coronas (2 if you're drunk)

This is really a CD to be purchased by those who insist on collecting them all such as myself. Agree with hph but Bend a Little isn't all that bad and deserves mentioning.

Now wait a minute! This CD is a Great one, though the music never made him the money his other cd's have made, this cd shows Jimmy trying to make it in the music industry. Yes, Ace is an eternal classic about a poor man and the way society views people like that. It might not be "margaritaville" but it's Buffett in the beginning. I personally give this whole cd 4 phinz up ^^^^^ and love listening to it!

maybe if we're talking beer coaster
Seriously "Livingston's gone to Texas" is worth it just for the lost verse.

3.5 stars. It's rough, a little ragged here and there, a few bad notes singing wise but overall I'd listen to this anyplace anytime anywhere over Mango and a great hint at what would happen in the next few years. Way too put down by too many people.

How many of these old, old, old, old threads are going to be revived?

This is the one of the two worst Bubba outputs if you ask me...others disagree.......so be it.

Well, they're on here to post comments on. Genius. 3.5 might be a little high. Maybe a 2.5. It's album reviews. So what. Go to some other page if you don't like it or simply don't respond. I don't care either way. You hurt my feelings long ago and that will never be forgotten. Because of these glasses I can't see so good. I've got quite a few in me.

What?

Ha ha ha ha ha ha......it lives.

Hey, sonofabeach, do you not like HCJ because it doesn't have any SJPTD? Or are you just mired in a Last Mango state of mind?
