Daily look at the Police Officer Down Memorial page/sail on.
A post yesterday got a few people here fired up, I know I was a bit. It was a started by ParrotheadGator who might have had a bad day and was pulled over for swerving to avoid an accident. Many of you voiced your own opinion and many of you stated that you hated cops.
Check out the original thread for more details. It's worth the read.

I'm posting this thread to honor the Police Officers/Law Enforcement Officers Men and Women who gave the ultimate sacrifice. These officers lost their life and were either killed or died in the line of duty. Each day I will update the number of fallen officers starting today. Hopefully I will post the same number on December 31st as I do today. Each day if necessary I hope we can all take a minute and give a sail on to those fallen officers who payed the ultimate price and lost their life in the line of duty helping others.
Here is the link to The Officer Down Memorial page please check it out.

End of Watch: Wednesday, August 10, 2005
Biographical Info
Age: 30
Tour of Duty: 7 yr
Badge Number: Not available
Incident Details
Cause of Death: Struck by vehicle
Date of Incident: Wednesday, August 10, 2005
Weapon Used: Person

Deputy Graham was struck and killed by an auto as he struggled with an emotionally disturbed man.
Deputy Graham was dispatched to Kinney street West Ajo Way after a man called 911 three times from a pay phone. He was incoherent and paranoid, claiming people were out to get him. When Deputy Graham arrived, the suspect got combative and Deputy Graham was able to get a handcuff partly on him before he broke away and started to run across the street. Deputy Graham caught up with him in the median, where they struggled again. A passing taxi cab driver parked his taxi on the side of the road and ran over to assist Deputy Graham. The three struggled and fell into a westbound lane where they were all struck by a pick-up truck. Deputy Graham, the good Samaritan taxi driver and the suspect were all killed.
Deputy Graham had served with the Pima County Sheriff's Office for three years and had previously served with the Arizona Department of Corrections for four years. He is survived by his wife and two step-children.

Thank you Mike!!! ...I noe of at least one person I used to work with before he left and went to a small town police force and then to the S.O. makes up one of those numbers on that total list. I know of several other officers that were wounded in the line of duty.
I think that anyone that hates cops, should ride a few times out on patrol from 11-7 ( or whatever hours the particular department works on a full moon payday weekend and see and experience the wherefores and why do they do this or that....run the day shift in the heat of summer....and during rain storms and in the cold of winter. See what goes on when someone is inside a dark building in the middle of the night,...or see the clean and of pick up the aftermath of a wreck involving fatalities...GOD FORBID it is a child..... or the waiting to go court after shift ended ....etc....
They only see their side and hear the one side from their friends or whatever....I have seen bad officers but I have seen a hell of alot more good ones...unfortunately the bad ones give all the rest a bad name....
Again thank you for keeping us informed and updated. I wish it was not neccessary for any further updates but reality says there will be....

Gunman Kills Ga. Police Officer, Himself

PINE LAKE, Ga. — A man shot a police officer to death Thursday following a traffic stop in suburban Atlanta (search), then ran inside a post office and apparently killed himself, authorities said.
A witness said the gunman was holding the officer hostage in front of the building when he shot him at point-blank range. The gunman and another officer exchanged fire before the gunman fled into the post office, and it was surrounded by police.
All four postal employees managed to escape through the back of the building, and it was not immediately known if any customers were inside at the time, said Paul Krenn, a spokesman for the U.S. Postal Inspection Service (search).
The slain officer worked for the police department in the Atlanta suburb of Pine Lake (search), DeKalb County Police Chief Louis Graham said.
The gunman died of what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Krenn said.
The police chief confirmed that the confrontation stemmed from a traffic stop, but details were not immediately available.
Witness Susan Boozer said the violence was unfolding as she drove up to the post office. She saw two officers near a parked blue SUV, one with his gun drawn. A man had his arm around the chest of one of the officers and was shouting at the other: "'Go on and shoot. Go on and shoot,'" she said.
The man then shot at the officer who was pointing the gun at him, and then he shot the one he was holding, Boozer said.
Gunfire ensued between the man and the other officer. Boozer guessed that about 10 shots were fired before the man entered the post office.

Just saw on our local news that New Smyrna Beach Police Dept had an officer killed overnight. It was the first time they ever had an officer killed in the line of duty. Apparently a pickup truck cut him off, causing him to crash and killed him. Driver has not been found. PHIN POWER PLEASE to the family and Police Dept.

This week we lost a police officer in a "artistic" type area where there is virtually no crime. An area in Dekalb County called Pinelake. It was a routine traffic stop. The guy that was stopped got out with a gun in hand, headlocked the cop and shot him in the head. Then ran into a store and shot himself.
When they run you out of town make it look like you are leading the parade.

His Dog (K-9) was also killed, now that really sucks.
