WOW! Thanks for all the great advice. Penny I only heard of a doula last week. We haven't made any decisions. Just wanted to hear some testimonys. Didn't realize there were so many options. Looks like I have some more reading ahead of me. I agree I couldn't ask for better support than from Corey. I'm sure he is hoping I don't turn into the Exorcist.

No matter how much pain I was in for that 30 hours...I was never mad at Jim...you are in apin...and you may scream a bit...but I really don't get it when I hear woman say they "blame" their husbands for the pain.jeepgirl wrote: I agree I couldn't ask for better support than from Corey. But to get the shot and expect to NOT have pain and then still feel it all. That's harsh.iuparrothead wrote:My sister-in-law has scar tissue from a back surgery she had as a teenager and instead of the epidural essentially 'numbing' her lower body... the anesthetic went north & she went numb in her upper torso & arms!!!CUparrot wrote:I agree!kitty wrote:If a baby comes out of your vagina, I consider that natural child birth...just because some people need the help of a little pain medication to take the edge off...don't think it wasn't still "natural".
I had an epidural, but it didn't really "take," so unfortunately, I experienced pretty much an unmedicated birth, even though that was not my plan. Oh well. I popped him out.....that's all that matters.![]()

Still felt the entire childbirth.
Sorta happened to me - took on one side but not the other. They rolled me on the side it didn't take on in hopes that that would help - it didn't. I got another shot and all was well. You could take my lower body shopping if you wanted - I didn't care at that point - the pain was gone and I had quit threatening to kill someone - anyone that didn't make the pain go away.
Well...(said in my best Bubba voice) I've been on sabbatical.
