That's damn resourceful if you ask me!
Tuesdays is free at Lonestar here as well as is Perkins, which for a long time was Victoria's favorite restaurant.
And also, thanks for the heads up on BW2 .99 thing. Hafta check that out as there's one right by our house and we're a bunch of wing whores.

When I was the hostess with the mostest working at an Italian restaurant we were never allowed to ask a party entering alone, "Just one?" for that reason. Didn't want to make guests feel like losers I s'pose.
Yep, we teach people that. Never say, "Just One?" It implies, "Can't find anyone who likes you, you loser?"
my answer to that, if it came at CBiP, would be, "Heck yes, I can't find anyone to keep up with me.."

Mom? Is that you?
I don't know why... could be a combination of laziness (this is actually multi-faceted... takes time to grocery shop, takes time to unload groceries, takes time to cook, and time to clean up), spoiled / finicky kids (when I cook, it's short-order because no one will agree on the same thing), finicky husband (doesn't like chicken, turkey, fish, seafood, roasts, or pork - basically eats ground beef, sausage, or steak), and overcompensating for going out to eat about once a year growing up... but we order out or go to restaurants often... at least 4 nights a week.
We do try to minimize costs however...
Tuesdays kids eat free at Lonestar, and they get a good steak, potato, drink, and sundae!
Wednesdays kids eat for 99 cents at Buffalo Wild Wings
Saturday kids eat free at Denny's (though we rarely go there)
Sunday kids eat free at Austin's (a local place)
And we always have Entertainment Book and local coupons for buy 1 get 1 free dinners at a multitude of other places!
Writing this has helped me identify a possible problem!
That you are limited in places to eat because of kids???

Yet another answer for me to use when asked, "Why don't you two have any kids?"

Usually don't have to worry about it here, but at old jobs...

I never felt self-conscious about eating by myself if I was travelling alone. Then it translated into, "well, I'd be eating by myself at home if I were there". From there, it has all been uphill.

You just go to Hooters when you're on the road, right?

Are you a restaurant?
I am hard headed about this one....
For children: I cook it.. you will eat it. I will take into consideration your likes and dislikes, however I cannot please you all the time.
For spouse: I am a decent cook but my talents lie elsewhere....I work 10 hr days and sometimes... I just dont have it in me to cook. Since you don't even know where the stove is... take me out where you can get what you want and I dont have to worry about it!!

We have very stringent rules about this in our house. It drives me BATTY when parents/other relatives cook separate food for their kids than themselves. Our kids eat what we eat and that's that.
It really p*** of my ILs for a while because a few of the nieces on Matt's side of the family are super picky eaters and would get to eat hot dogs and spaghetti-os instead of the family meal. I always made Victoria eat what the adults were eating.
I've been lucky so far. Both of the kiddos are good eaters and will pretty much eat what we make them (which is saying a lot if you've ever tried my cooking).

My keet was the same way... she was brought up to eat anything... and does. Now @ 21 (ack.... next week) she is a size 3 and still eats most anything. I hate her.

Choose a place with a bar ... and eat @ the bar... usually you will have company.

Like a CIP Bennigans, Chillis etc...
I'm getting to know most of the bartenders at the Outbacks across Tennessee.

If you ever change to Chili's, I know a guy in Austin who can grease your skid into the new community.

Mal at my house:
Oldest: Spaghetti-o's
Youngest: Cereal
Funny thing is, even when I'm picking up dinner, it's normally from at least 2, sometimes 3 different places...
I don't know how we got to this point, but I actually told em last week it was gonna change... ya right!

Haha! I knew I was taking a risk when I made that statement, but I'm ALL FOR making the change. You also have to understand I'm the uber-nazi mom that doesn't even let the kids watch TV on school nights.
Maybe if you let them help plan the menu.
Hmmm. Maybe something like this...
Monday - easy dinner night (pasta...macNcheese/spaghetti, etc)
Tuesday- keet #1 choice (keet #1 helps cook)
Wednesday - chicken night
Thursday - keet #2 choice (keet #2 helps cook)
Friday - mom's choice (aka eat it or go hungry night)
Saturday - make dad cook (aka order pizza)
Sunday - "nice" family dinner

Sorry, it was just a reflex. I tend to buy, and stock up on stuff.. I am slowly working my way thru the stuff on the counter in the way of side dish mixes and the like. Some days, Zatarain's is my best friend.

Sadly enough, I use to go to Chilis so much that the waitress would bring me out the salsa before "hydrating" it. If you ever go to a Chilis, ask for the salsa without hydration. They will look at you like you've discovered the great Chilis conspiracy.

Sweetie.... telling them its going to change and actually doing it are 2 different things. Forgetabout telling them.... just do it. Or
you will be batty!! Its kind of like having to plan to make a plan.... all you do is spend time planning... not accomplishing anything!
