I have this cd and had forgotten about it until I googled it.East Texas Parrothead wrote:Me, too. Never heard it, either.conched wrote:Is this Shelby Lynne?
I love this song.
Lyrics for Song: Where I'm From
Lyrics for Album: I Am Shelby Lynne
Heaven knows this ain't no Margaret Mitchell
where the oak trees meet the pines
I know it might sound kinda simple
oh but it's mine oh it's mine
Thought I heard a logman cuttin' timber
down the Mississippi line
I'm up the old Tombigbee river
high as the pines, all the time
Elegamment les batos passant
ben on la flota vec du van
all I'm trying to say is I'm
never far away from
Alabama frame of mind
Jubilation risin' on the bayou
celebration in the wind
Father Pat gives benediction
cross the Coden bridge again
Crickets spreadin' rumors by the shoreline
with the lonesome lady whine
crab trap full of nothin
I'm high as the tide, all the time
Oh, oh! Savannah is pulling out all the stops and playing all the songs we love about the Gulf Coast.
Nanci Griffith Gulf Coast Highway with Hooker I think.

I better run. I feel like we are getting into the Last Man Standing mode.
Thanks to everyone who came and listened tonight.
Jason, you did a great job on the setlist.
Have a good holiday tomorrow and hope to see you all back here at 2 Central.
Fins sinking low. This music is getting to me. At least it is a break from TV for a while.

I still love old magazines and Snickers bars....
just home from wrigley-what an amazing evening with lots of Chicago and Cubbies references all night.
Thanks Jimmy for a perfect evening. Nicki and I had a great time!
By the way, Star Spangled Banner was a video recording of Jimmy singing it at Wrigley-it was not live.
we thought the crowd was very into it, and very loud-guess it doesn't always translate to the broadcast.

My wife and I just got home from the show. What you were not able to see was Jimmy and Mac sitting in the top row of the right field bleachers doing "City of New Orleans". Everyone disappeared from the stage while the T-shirt shooting guys entertained the crowd by blasting T-shirts to them. Then a single spotlight illuminated Jimmy and Mac. Jimmy remarked that this was where he was seated when he viewed his first Cubs game in 1977. While they sang the song, scenes of New Orleans prior to Katrina were shown on the Parrotvision screens. It was hard to keep the tears back. What a great ending to a great show.

The Star Spangled Banner was an audio/video recording that said it was
from 1983. It showed a very much younger Jimmy (with lots of long
blonde hair), and it looked like he was in a ball park - probably was
Wrigley - don't recall. Jimmy was not on stage - he came out with the rest
of the band at the end of Hot Hot Hot.
If you don't count Star Spangled Banner, as #1 then Take Me out to the
Ball Game ought to be counted as #20, since the entire band was on
stage (and I think they were singing), but the video showed Jimmy at
Wrigley with giant Harry Carry glasses on.

It was a great show, but instead of ALL the SYKBH's I personally would
have preferred more fruity/ boat drinky/ gypsy songs. Maybe tomorrow!
Some other highlights you could not see on RM (in addition to Mac and
Jimmy singing the last song on the right side bleachers), was that Jimmy
wore a yellow t-shirt the entire time that simply said "NEW ORLEANS" on
the front.
red plastic cup!
Got to meet opharbour, irishcajunphan and Tiki Bar. Yes, opharbour, we
had a great time at the Blue Bayou. Met some other cool Buffett fans.
Too bad we missed ejr and Nicki.
