Largest Crowd Ever?

Post by turning40 »

After the Philly show with approx. 40,000 people, I was wondering what is the largest crowd Jimmy has ever played to?

Don't know, but that's not even close.

I know years ago like back in 1998 Tinley Park could hold 35,000 but that year at Farm Aid they had 38,000. They have upgraded once since then I belive now it is just over 40,000 if not more for a show, and usually if the show sells out they will usually pack more people in there.

Crappiest sound in the United States for a outdoor venue, but they can sure pack em in there.

Alpine Valley can take about 42,000. But I don't want to get in trouble for mentioning that place...

For some reason, I thought Alpine Valley had 43,000 a couple years ago.

And I'm sure that isn't the biggest crowd he's ever played. Just pointing out it is bigger than Philly.

Actually I hate to say this---but if you look at Billboard results for top concerts---when Alpine is up there--it actually says capacity is at 35,000.

You've been there for Buffett... I think they fill it past capacity, don't you?

(I'm not arguing - no reply necessary - I really don't know, and it's the weekend... have a good one! )

Sorry, I'm not Jah. I don't live by what Billboard says.

I've been going to concerts at Alpine since 1987. It holds well over 40,000.

I don't know how many attended Jimmy's show at Texas Stadium but that was the largest crowd I've seen for Buffett.

I found the largest crowd to attend a solo concert ever.

Hard for me to say. Ive been to Alpine quite a few times, but only 2 or 3 of those times has been in the lawn.

Local press reported both Philly shows at 45,000 each.

kind of ironic, but a few years back at jazz fest in new orleans there were between 100-130K. And most of the parrotheads that i know refused to go simply because of the amount of people that would be there to see him.
