letting everyone know were okay

ive been getting a lot of messages asking if we are okay, and i'm sorry that it took so long to respond, but everything is working fine down here in houma. as you can imagine, cell phones are out of service also.
some of you know that i live about an hour south of new orleans. thankfully we were spared most of the destruction. houma is taking in a lot of refugees from the city. unfortunatly, some of them are escaping the shelters and looting our towns. we also took in 3 elderly people at our home who escaped from their roofs in new orleans east. we got in contact with their relatives and they are on their way to florida now. one of them was an amputee; its amazing that he chopped a hole in his roof and climbed out.
