I have had the crappy funnel cake down here in Florida - they either had it frozen or it was baked - either way it was dry and crappy. You have to cook it in pure lard for it to be really good- that's why I think the heart attack rate in PA is twice that of other states!!! :o

I made my first visit to Pat's the day after the Philly show and I gotta say, that alone may substantiate PA's existance! YUMMY!!!! :D :D :D

What's great about PA?
Well, starting with Philly:
SOFT PRETZYLS!!!
CHEESECAKE!!! :D
KRIMPETS!!!
and other Tastee Cakes
the Philly Zoo
the Keebler Factory (with all those elves inside)
My bestest aunts in the whole world live there
AND, I was born there. (but I always thank God I grew up in South Carolina. And it's really His fault, because my dad was sent there as a minister!)

As for the rest of PA,
got to agree with Hershey and Gettysburg as being pretty great
and Doylestown, Pa., is pretty cool too.

I thought of this thread this weekend. My friend works on an army base, and we went out with a bunch of the army guys. I met one of the nicest guys i've met in years and you geussed it........he's from PA. What a sweety, I'd just like to say hats off to you PA for raising some gentlemen! Something New England seems to be lacking in my generation. So YAY PA! :wench:

Another great thing about PA.

Forty brave Americans picked that spot to defy Al Qaida terrorists.

I watched the Discovery Channel documentary on Flight 93 last night.....after seeing the way the folks in Shanksville, PA have embraced the families of the heroes on that flight.....SHANKSVILLE, PA is a wonderful example of the state....
