Studio vs Live

After the Philly show, I went through my recorded live CD's (mostly T,T & S and Hawaii) and created a mix CD of 19 songs, all live versions. I think these versions are much better than their original studio tracks because of the energy and drive that is so obvious from the band. I used to be indifferent to live albums due to crowd noise and so-so mixes, but Jimmy's songs really come to life in the live versions. Plus, the Coral Reefers really rock, especially on the old chestnuts which take on a new life on-stage.

Anyone else find they prefer live over studio?

I agree

I have three live albums and plenty of studio, but the live cd's are the best, the best Cd's are the one With Tuesday as the title ( Sorry long day at work), and Feeding frenzy, Feeding frenzy has a great version of Jollymon, Last mango, and in the city, but they all are awesome. Nothing tops his concerts. Cheers and Hope to see him in 2006 :pirate:

There are a ton of songs that I love the live version of, but am not horribley fond of the studio versions. Trying to reason with Hurricane Season and Great Heart are two that pop into mind immediately but there are many others. I just think that JB and the Coral Reefers put on a lively and energetic live show.
