Recording of Chicago concerts

Post by Down around Biloxi »

I was sent down to the gulf coast for work covering the hurricane and just got back last night, I had tickets for both Chicago shows but wound up in Gulf Port and Biloxi Miss. with no power and running water. Did anybody record the Sunday or Monday shows at Wrigley Field. I'm new to the message board...but I'm a long time fan of Jimmy's.
By the way the pictures you see from there, it's worse[/b]

Thanks for getting back to me, I've always wanted to look up a news group for Jimmy, and now that I'm back for a short while I wanted to check out what I missed...The first time I saw Jimmy was in 1982 at my University, Southern Illinois - and I was hooked from there on.

I don't remember the date but it was sometime in the early part of the year. As far as I know there are no recording of the show.
One side bar Bruce Springsteen also played there that same year

Welcome to the site :P

The shows are available for downloading at bootcity.org, you need
to register and be familiar with BitTorrents to get it from
there.

You can also have a look in the Concert trading section. The
shows always show up sooner or later

You have to download the bittorrent client I use bit tornado.
you have to register at bootcity.org -takes a minute.
then download the show or torrent file, it may take a while as it is almost a gigabyte, convert from flac - if you google both af those programs you can find them and download with no problems.

I have had to help out a few non techno Parrotheads in the last few days
but it is no problem. the reason I chose flac is because it is lossless unlike mp3. that's what flac means FREE LOSSLESS AUDIO CODEC.

I think that about covers it. any more question feel free to contact me.

cheers. :D

OK, maybe I'm just a computer-dummy...(ok, I am)

but I can't figure this out.

How do I get this burned to a cd...or at least in a file I can burn from???

thanks!!!

Once you've downloaded the flacs using a bit torrent program (I use Azureus http://azureus.sourceforge.net) , download the yahoo music engine http://music.yahoo.com/musicengine/, which will read the flacs and let you burn them to cds. Downloading the files is a little tricky, but after that, you'll be fine.

Will it not connect or just not start? Were you able to open the torrent file from bootcity?

Azureus will run on all versions of windows, not just xp, but at work it probably won't run because the company you work for probably blocks it from connecting. Try it at home and see what happens.

Actually...I mis-spoke. the Yahoo Music engine is what would not work without XP.

I downloaded the Bit from bootcity, but it only took like a 1/2 second, so I don't think it worked. then it kept trying to open the file (after the download) in ITunes for some srtange reason...

I am just copying the MP3 files from the servebeer site posted above..hopefully that will work!!!

Thanks again!!
