I have to say that the xmas cards from BNers is what got me through last Christmas! (My sister passed away unexpectedly 2 weeks before) Each day there was a new treasure in the mailbox to make me smile or laugh, something that was far and few between last holiday season. This year I promise that you will all get Xmas cards- not Valentines/Xmas cards! The gift exchange was also a lot of fun!
The Gift Exchange was organized by Phaw.. pholks just posted in a thread that they wanted to participate and then she drew the names and matched pholks up. (Just remember.. if you want to do the exchange, please make sure you do.. some pholks never heard from the person that had their name (no, I don't mean you, PT. ), so make sure you follow up).
The card exchange list I did starting late October, I think.. and I'll do it again for whoever wants to take part in..

At a certain date, Penny (? I think) shuffled the names and matched everyone up and posted them.
Either we posted what we collected/favorites/or exchanged them in a pm.
I'm thinking
Penny did the Christmas card list and Renee did the Gifts..

A bit of a related item.... a call to certain large retail chain store......... seeking new blades for my mower.... The person responded "Yes we do carry them but are currently out and we are getting our Christmas stock/inventory in. I do not know WHEN we will be restockong them."
Thank You WALMART!
Anyone who cares to know this actually took place last Friday....... Unfortunately I had to go into "Wally-World" on Sunday....They had all sorts of Christmas items in the "home and garden center".
So here is another.... to you, WakkkyWONDERFULLWallyWorld!!!!
Christmas in September....THANK YOU WALMART( I am not debating or arguing or condeming the merits of this thread..... JUST BLEEPING WALMART!!!! PLEASE realize that!)... THANK YOU for proving merchandising and marketing are more important than the Christmas spirit, and pushing your "Wally World" Christmas products in September!
Roll with the punches, play all of your hunches...come what may... POW-MIA, YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN!!!
SUPPORT OPERATION JUST CAUSE!!! http://www.ojc.org/
Hey Sam, don't go to the clothing section. Shorts and tank tops come out in March. And coats and long sleeves come out in July. After all, they are there to make $$$$$$
It's always been this way, except Christmas comes a week earlier every year, for Wal-Mart and K-Mart

It's by no means just Wal Mart, the Dollar Stores, Rite Aid, Target, and some of the department stores around this way are starting to show signs of holidays as well.
Every freaking craft and fabric store, too, but I can somewhat forgive them if it's on a craft or sewing basis since now's about the time you'd buy the stuff if you're making a long term project.
Personally, it ticks me off more than anything that Thanksgiving gets pushed to the backburner so much. I love Thanksgiving! and Halloween! I don't bother with Christmas until the day after Thanksgiving.
Cooking is like love. It should be entered into with abandon or not at all..
