Post by Sam »

I don't really wonder if she did this to get her name back in the news since the hurricanes stole her thunder and momentum...

Police Arrest Cindy Sheehan During Anti-War Protest

POSTED: 12:50 pm CDT September 26, 2005
UPDATED: 1:05 pm CDT September 26, 2005

WASHINGTON -- Cindy Sheehan, the California woman who has used her son's death in Iraq to spur the anti-war movement, was arrested Monday while protesting outside the White House.

Sheehan and several dozen other protesters sat down on the sidewalk after marching along the pedestrian walkway on Pennsylvania Avenue. Police warned them three times that they were breaking the law by failing to move along, then began making arrests.

Sheehan, 48, was the first taken into custody. She stood up and was led to a police vehicle while protesters chanted, "The whole world is watching."

Sheehan's 24-year-old son, Casey, was killed in an ambush in Sadr City, Iraq, last year. She attracted worldwide attention last month with her 26-day vigil outside President George W. Bush's Texas ranch.

Sheehan was among several hundred demonstrators who marched around the White House on Monday and then stopped in front and began singing and chanting "Stop the war now!"

The demonstration is part of a broader anti-war effort on Capitol Hill organized by United for Peace and Justice, an umbrella group. Representatives from anti-war groups were meeting Monday with members of Congress to urge them to work to end the war and bring home the troops.

I just saw the clip on TV. She had the biggest smile on her face. It was sorta weird. According to the TV report they were advised 3 times to "move on" before the arrests.

Probably did do this for the attention. She lost the attention because of the hurricanes.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Life is short, live long!!

I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.

or perhaps she realizes that there are a lot of issues affecting this country, and getting us out of Iraq would free up a lot of cash for the Hurricane costs...

You mean like money spent on her and those professional protestors like her that get arrested and have to be taken care of ... and the money spent on security and overtime for police and other agencies?

Really Your answer was as clear as the muck and goo at the bottom of the areas affected by the hurricanes and flooded out.

Did you mean disingenuous ???

since you want to throw more money at the problem and hope that will fix it ..... just how much more money would you have the taxpayers pay to them?

You want more money to through at the problem but it will solve nothing. Apprently you think it is ok for people to protest and for millions to be spent in security on those protest...and not where it could be spent better elsewhere...on people in REAL NEED ..... You may well disagree with the war in Iraq... but you have never offered a better solution on fighting terrs and unless you want to capitulate to them or can up with a better idea all I hear from you is nothing of use.

If you want America to abandon her allies and lose face and feed the morale of the terrs and bad guys, that is your business. If you want every life lost and every sacrifice made and ignore every success accomplished there.... that is your business too.

If you actually really do care about the situation and our troops there, then you would be all for themFINISHING the job and THEN coming home instead of denying the victory they have fought died, maimed, bled, and sweated and continue to do so for.

So How much more money do you want to throw at the situation in New Orleans??? What about Alabama and Miss. ???

Should we spend tax dollars to rebuilt a city that is built under sea level just so the same thing can happen again?
How much do you want to spend on that?

and thus, another 8 paragraph response from Sam, summarized in six short words, "blah, blah, blah. I don't understand."

I expect nothing less from you... all you want is an argument and never have any real answers or solutions.
How typical.

Plain and simple you won't tell us , simply because you can't tell us and you have no real clue... so you dodge the issue and the point.

LOL! Reminds me of an interview I heard with a protestor at the Republican Convention. He had no idea why he was there protesting and admitted as much.

once again Sam .. the thread started out as a discussion and you were the FIRST person to throw insults..... you are rude and honestly an ignorant person and I really wish you would find another website to insult people on - I am getting a little tired of seeing your rants... And good luck coming back to bash me - but God knows I'm sure you will try.
