Did Jimmy once open for Cassius Clay in Daytona Beach? Back before the butterfly became Cassius? In a high school stadium field in Daytona?
The answer from this writer is "I Don't Know." I was there for some reason, thought it was Jimmy later. Would have been in the early 70's perhaps. Is this too far out of his time frame? Well, I like to think it was Jimmy anyway. Anyone know?

Are you talking about the Boxer or the Punk Band?
The Boxer changed his name to Muhammed Ali in March, 1964.

CaptainP, yes, the boxer. Thanks for correcting my memory.
ToplessRideFL, LOL, too true. It was odd. I think the boxer was in town to do a childrens benefit and they must have used the band as an added attraction for those not keen on boxing. A lot of crazy stuff was happening in those days. There was a Woodstock style festival in West Palm Beach complete with Janis Joplin; Baez and Dylan were appearing together in concert; Joe Cocker packed in a huge audience at an outdoor event with A Little Help From My Friends program; acid rocked and socked the airways and as a psuedo hippie I enjoyed it all. More than one friend rode out on the mainline railway and I turned back to sailing and folk music and eventually found Buffett. Through out it all, I remained convinced that it was Jimmy who opened that show because something in my soul just went "ahhhh!" I wish there were some way to confirm that.
