If anything will work it usually is something that the quitter comes up with or at least a suggestion they have total confidence in to the point of blind faith. I like the match trick because I never heard anyone else suggest it before.

The last thing I ever wanted to hear was some fruitcake telling me 'you need to take a nice deep breath and relax " Man, what I want to do is rip someone's head off and put it were the sun don't shine, but I digress. If your mom came up with the idea or believes it works it will.

She is in my prayers. Nicotine is a tough one.

Way to go FP and FP's Mom!!!!!

Mom's not doing so well. She fell off of a step stool a couple of weeks ago and dislocated her shoulder. Her tongue is still really sore and she hasn't been able to eat anything. She's back to smoking some but I really don't know how much...

Sorry to hear this Bill. It is a roller coaster ride when someone you love is sick. Just when you think you see the light at the end of the tunnel...just hang tough.

I think the card idea is great. It is nice to know that other people are thinking of you and it gives you hope and the strength to forge ahead.

I haven't really felt like talking about this, but I've gotten some PM's so I thought I should give an update. The doctors didn't want to operate on her shoulder, but it isn't healing on its own so they don't really have a choice. That will probably be in the next couple of weeks and I'll go to take care of her for that. She's eating a little bit, but not enough to sustain herself without the tube. She'll have that in for at least 2 more months. She's gone from a size 12 to a size 4.
