"Hoot" Release Date

Post by f2cdlzrd »

According to this website http://movies.about.com/library/weekly/aahootcast.htm the movie "Hoot" co-produced by Jimmy Buffett and including a Jimmy Buffett soundtrack will be released April 7, 2006. I hope this date stays true. The movie trailer is coming soon.

April 7? (BIG CURSE WORD) I will be in China on that day.....

Think it will be released worldwide? I will be in a rural area of China then, but later that week I will be in Japan. Maybe I can see it then... :-?

Is this the "ALBUM" he said he would be working on in October?

Not entirely sure, if I remember correctly it seems like he was going to be contributing to an upcoming all star Little Feat record as well.

If I'm not mistaken I believe Bill Payne from Little Feat was in Key West with while they were recording the new cd. I spoke to a customer who is friends with Bill Payne and she told me he was down there with Jimmy Buffett, and he played some of the stuff for her over the phone. She said it sounded great.

I hope Sonny Landreth is back on board for the next Buffett album too. With all due respect to the current Reefers I'd also love to see him become part of the touring band.

I remember hearing that the Hoot soundtrack wouldn't be solely Buffett. Mac said in an interview that they were working on a stand alone album besides that.

Not only is this movie co-produced by Jimmy, but he also has a role. Jimmy will be playing the part of Mr. Ryan, a marine science teacher. The plot summary seems to show some serious JB influence..."A young man (Lerman) moves from Montana to Florida with his family, where he's compelled to engage in a fight to protect a population of endangered owls." The whole moving from the heartland to Gulf Coast sounds familiar doesnt it...Tully Mars! The film is still listed as "In Production".

Sonny was great on Hey Good Lookin, Southern Cross, and Scarlet Begonias last year. :D

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar
