I used to give 3 or 4 times a year. . I have a 10 gallon pin! It has been too long. . It's a shame to say I have just been too busy.

If you have the time - consider platelet apheresis. It takes about 2 to 3 hours, and if you meet the same requirements to donate blood - you can donate your platelets. This can really help someone undergoing chemo, radiation or organ transplant.

It's a little strange :-? - they draw the blood from one arm - it runs into an apheresis instrument, which separates the blood into separate portions by centrifuge. The platelets are saved, while the rest of the blood is returned to you either into the same vein or into a vein in your other arm.

You can watch TV. . Read. . or think about how many people you might be helping! :D

I am a big advocate for donating blood. I think everyone should at least try if they can.

I dislike needles, but I do give blood. It affects many lives and you can save a life anyone from a child to anyone. Thank God that people do give blood and donate organs. I am quite sure most of us in here would not intentionally kill someone they never met or knew about. I am also quite sure that most people in here would willingly save a life if they could or were in a situation to do so.

Everyone can do so that can give blood does so, and becomes an organ donor. You can save numerous lives.

I have a very good friend that's life was saved by the death of a 16 year old girl. He now has one of her kidneys.

Think about if your life was on the line and needed an organ or blood donor.....and no one wanted to give.... For whatever reasons of rejection other than legitmate medical/disease compatitablity ( so to speak ) and religious beliefs other than not caring for one's "fellow man"..only common fear prevents most people from contributing. My father before he passed took over 18 units of blood. I do not know the individuals who donated, but I thank God for them and the time they devoted and took and gave us more time with him. I do what I can and urge others to do what they did.....A small sacrifice to save a life.

Are you willing to help save a life??

Besides after giving blood, it takes less alcohol to give you a buzz.... If you are dead your organs won't matter to you, so donate them too if they are useable to anyone....

Every 3 months they come around to our hospital so I can give at work. They also give employees a thing for 2 hours off whenever we want it if we donate... (I'd give anyway, but don't tell them that!) :P :P

I am registered at Canadian Blood Services so that in times of crisis they will call me for blood. I have that desirable O Neg. I helped save a newborn once that they had to transfuse.

sometimes I take it.... jk Since my S/O works for Bloodnet - I donate once a month - he said I had the worst platelet count ever so I guess that is a no go. But it's good to give if you can do it.

HELL NO HELL NO HEEEEELLLLL NOOOO!!!!!!

The proportion of alcohol to blood ratio in my body is perfect.

Seriously, I tried twice, first time they nicked the vein on the way in and my arm swole up like a baloon, second time I gave the pint but it took me two hours to get off the table I was so dizzy.

I am an organ donor though.. and yes you pervs.. I dont mean the one I give to Tropical Coley
