What do you do for Halloween?

Post by sy »

It's another poll!!!!

Actually, I'm just curious. My family and I have certain traditions we do every year for different holidays. Around Halloween (or autumn harvest, or Samhain, or All Hallows Eve, etc), we go to Hersheypark, go on a hayride, and usually have a party or dinner. We also hand out candy on Halloween. I have friends who literally hide in the house and turn off all the lights so they don't have to hand out candy. Some go to clubs, and some dread it because they have to walk their kids all over the neighborhoods.

What do you do for Halloween, if anything?
Cooking is like love. It should be entered into with abandon or not at all..

I don't know. Halloween is pretty quiet here. Now, if you ask what I do for Beggar's Night, the "sanctioned holiday substitute"....

Now that the keets are gone we turn out the lights and pretty much ignore Halloween... although we are heading to some friends house this year for their cul de sac party..... Of course recently I saw enough candy to last me awhile..... prepping for the Baghdad project.... :o :D

Halloween is BB's favorite holiday!! :D :D :D

This is what I usually do:

Pre-Halloween: Buy costumes, decorate, etc. etc. etc.

Halloween
1. Go to Victoria's school and be room-mom for the day, helping with all the halloween activities (although I can't this year :( )

2. Make a big batch of chili and have my parents, my sister, and her kids over for dinner.

3. Take all kids out trick-or-treating and hand out candy.

4. Eat cake (which will have 31 candles this year) and ice cream and open birthday presents!!!! 8) 8) 8)

5. Clean up the kids and pray for the sugar-induced coma to come soon so I can get their bouncing bodies into bed.

6. If it's a weekend, hubby and I will go out to a bar or party or something. If it's a weeknight, we stay in.
