Mostly just give out candy & visit with the neighbors. It's fun to see all the kids in their costumes! However, this year I'm involved in a big Halloween Party production my brother & sister in law are having. They live in the country & have come up with a trail (about 1/3 mile) they've been working on for several weeks. the theme this year is "The Toxic Bog". The storyline is that there has been a toxic chemical spill & now the creatures living inthe area are "Mutating" and the military is getting the public (guests) to help locate the dangerous mutants. They go all out, but it is going to be fun! I'm going to be a black widow spider, complete with a toxic glow in the dark web! Only thing is I have to be out in the woods in the dark by myself! There are about 15 of us working on it! They should charge admission & open it to the public!

We have a neighbor who does that too. They're already decorated. We decorate to the max and enjoy scaring kids. Now that keet is too old to trick or treat, he likes to dress as Jason and pretend he is a statue and scare the other trick-or-treaters. Halloween is my FAVORITE holiday! Cool finally, and FUN!
We usually do at least one hayride sometime during the month of October, our church fall festival, and go to a nearby theme park with haunted houses/rides, etc.
We live in a fairly secluded area, so we don't have any TorT's, and have outgrown (translate: gotten too old for) halloween parties, so it's just an illegititate excuse for me to buy candy!!

ParrotHeadDeb and carolina girl
That sounds like fun!
I love the people who go all out with haunted houses and what not
They rock!!!
A few years back we cut a whole in the middle of an old table and when my wife lifted the lid the kids would scream when they saw my made up face!! And they all fell for it, even some adults.
Doing it again this year plus a fog machine, scary music, and some friends dressed up as Freddy, Jason, Michael Myers, and I'm gonna be Leatherface. Got a graveyard set up in the yard too.

Sounds Great! I would never have the imagination or organizational skills to plan a party like my brother is having.. but it is fun being involved!
I love Halloween. I'm usually working on a haunted house for a civic organization I'm in. But Since I've moved to Hilton Head, I just promote the one we do for work. Then I go home and hide in the dark because I forgot to buy candy and I don't want to be the Penny, Pretzel or canned tuna guy.
Later I'll dress up and hit a bar or costume party. I've changed since my younger days. We use to go out smashing pumpkins. But Karma caught up with me... I get my pumpkins smashed every year... I deserve it.

This is one of my favorite Halloween traditions, BB (that stands for Birthday Buddy, not BuffettBride)
Except this year's cake will have 18 candles on it... which means I will go out and buy a lottery ticket and cigarettes (I don't smoke, and would never think of doing it, but it's the principle of being able to buy them lol... they will probably end up either in the garbage or in the hands of a coworker)
