Florida SEXUAL OFFENDERS/PREDATORS

This database contains public record information on offenders classified as sexual predators and sexual offenders under Florida law because of a conviction for a sex-related crime and/or a specified crime against children. This information is made available to interested citizens to help them educate themselves about the possible presence of such offenders in their local communities. The placement of information about an offender in this database is not intended to indicate that any judgment has been made about the level of risk a particular offender may present to others. This information is made available to assist interested persons in forming their own risk assessments based on the offender's personal circumstances and conviction history.

I know a woman who is listed as a sex offender because she work in a strip club (such as they are in Utah) and was "observed taking money from a customer's hand". She's now on Utah's website.

I also note that a number of the people listed in my neighborhood no longer reside in my neighborhood. So I don't know how current this information is in terms of who supposedly lives nearby. My 12 year old daughter isn't allowed to wander around the neighborhood alone, she is allowed to go anywhere in the neighborhood she wants with our German Shephard and two or more of her friends.

I agree it's really sad what we have come to given that when I was a kid I wandered all over the place. When I was 4 my mother got a call from the Piggily Wiggily about a mile from our house telling her I was there. I did have the dog with me so no one could get too close to me. My mother came and got me and basically told me not to do that I again. So I stopped going to that Piggily Wiggily.
