Weren't there several seats left for one of the Philly shows at the end? And has the Oct 29th show in Vegas sold out yet? (But maybe October Vegas shows aren't in these stats.) And, I think there were some late release tickets at Pittsburgh, as well.z-man wrote:what I want to know what venue had unsold tickets!
the article says he only sold 99.7 % of the available tickets for 19 shows.

All of the acts with 98% are really 100%. Math suks and USA Today took litteral numbers not actual numbers or vice versa. Maybe tickets held for band member and promoter guests we unused and released at the last minute and no one bought them. I once bought 5th row tickets the week of a show, tickets that were released to Ticketmaster at the end. When I saw the show, there were 10 empty seats next to me.

I thought the 99.7% stat was interesting.
I agree with the 98% stat thing. It's not like you can walk up to a TicketB@st@rd outlet a week before the show and pick up a couple of tix. Also Jimmy tours every year unlike some of the guys on the list, so it's not like people are saying, "He's not gonna tour again for another 3 years. I don't want to miss him." Jimmy also had the highest average concert venue capacity. He's not selling out small venues. He's selling out places like Citizen Bank Ballpark for 2 shows (over 40,000 per). All in all, it shows that Jimmy is one of best and most popular guys around.
Cool.
USA Today wrote:Playing the percentages
Some veteran artists are stil making strong showings on the concert circuit... and a few who are slumping:
Artist............... % Tix sold .......No. of shows ......Avg. capacity
Van Morrison ......100 ....................7 ...................3,500
Jimmy Buffett.... 99.7 ....................19 .................24,300
Rod Stewart...... 98.9.................... 11 ..................9,000
Neil Diamond.... 98.4.................... 35 ..................14,100
Tom Petty........ 93.2 .....................33.................. 16,700
Bob Dylan......... 90.3.................... 35.................. 3,400
Headlining shows only; doesn't include festival appearances

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar
