How to reply to a 7 page thread I just caught up on????
My Larryness
bwahahaha. Does this mean Larry goes comando??
pau·ci·ty Smallness of number; fewness.
Scarcity; dearth: a paucity of natural resources.
[Middle English paucite, from Old French, from Latin paucits, from paucus, few. See pau-1 in Indo-European Roots.]
Main Entry: paucity
Part of Speech: noun
Definition: an insufficiency; dearth
Etymology: Latin paucus `little'
paucity was Word of the Day on September 13, 1999.
I'm a bit of a grammar nazi but I'm careful. I can end a sentence with a preposition. Once you are grammar nazi you are also a grammar target.
My daughter's boyfriend has an ancient grandmother who makes and serves lutefisk for holidays along with some alcoholic punch called glog which I assume kills the lutefisk germs. It contains many types of alcohol.
By the way I have strong grammar skills but am also completely geographically challenged.

fear the

I fear anything I can't pronounce... unless it's some pretty French or Swedish girl's name. Then I embrace it.
Now that's funny, right there!

Welcome to the party, Ocean City Girl. This thread seems to have become anything but humble.
Grammar nazi point taken and already proven here... that's what I get for sticking my long neck out.

Anyone else notice that "Larryness" and "paucity" got mentioned in the same post? Could there be a connection?

no.. glog just puts you in an apathetic mood, gets you thru or past the realization you are eating codfish treated in lye solution to get it to the consistency of jello, with a fishy taste. Of course, once winter hits (in Oct.), most Scandanavians become somewhat apathetic and prone to long drinking bouts as a means of self-medicating the sub-clinical depression boardering on autism that is winter up nort'...

Sorry, I'm having a good day today, and this thread has been a lot of fun. I'll get back to my usual shy, insecure, hypersensitive, doesn't-anyone-like-me personality tomorrow. But today is a good day~~ until I leave to get my crown, that is.
Tiara? Not crown. Remember, it's a princess.

Whoa, OCG. Pulling a Webster and coming up with the full etymology of Paucity, in addition to extra meanings.
CG, you've got some grammalogical competition here. (If grammalogical isn't a word - it is now. Can I get credit???)
I'm lost on the Larryness thing.
All I know is that WE ARE DEFINITELY OFF TOPIC and I love it.

It seems just a tiny bit odd that the golf channel is also covering Haggis eating.

I disappeared because I was surfing the 'net buying plane tickets and booking hotel rooms for tomorrow night's concert at The Fillmore and Saturday night's in Vegas.

Buffalo's actually pretty tasty. Leaner than regular beef too.

I'd rather have buffalo burger or a steak than the same cut of beef.
