Don't tell me you fall for that "need to change the oil" scam...
I'm still stuck on him getting serviced more than once a year. :o

A the benefits of public transportation..... When you decide to get a new one... I will buy it..... dont care what color..... (what kind is it anyway)
It's a 1999 Infiniti G20. I bought it in the fall of '98 when the new models came out and I don't think they make the G20 anymore. It's silver, but I think Infiniti calls it titanium or something like that.

I take the train to work, I work a lot of weekends and if I decide to come into NYC on the weekend it's a lot easier to hop on the train than to drive. It's a 35 minute train ride, no tolls, no parking garage and my monthly ticket on the train is paid for already so it doesn't cost anything extra.

The only reason it has as many miles as it does is all the trips to visit my sister. I go up there for all the holidays and my father's birthday. Plus my sister's birthday is 6 days before mine and her husband's is 5 days after mine so that's another trip. It's a little over 100 miles each way.

I laugh, but last time I was in b!tching at the service people at the Jeep dealer a lady had just brought her car in. Apparently it was having trouble starting and making a horrible noise. She told them it was probably the electrical system. Come to find out that it had been over 13k miles and about a year and a half since the last oil change. There was no oil left in the car. :o

My avenger has 140k miles - last oil change was at about 20k. Still has the original spark plugs, wires, tranny fluid, and air filter. Runs as good as new, and gets the same milage it did from day 1. It's pretty much an experiment now to see how long it will keep running

I have had the current car since Oct. 1 of 1999. I have yet to put 45k on it. It's good to live close to work. :)

other than the trip to Indy two weeks ago, the longest trip I'd taken in the car prior to that was probably a run up to Flint for MOTWBM in April '04. Most months I probably put on 700 miles or so, including side trips to the grocery store or for Trivia. Most of the time tho, I tend to batch my trips into one large run if I have to go out.

wow. The best I have at my office is a guy that comes around on Wednesdays to shine shoes for $5. But then again, if someone were to wash our mode of transportation, you'd have some pretty clean subway cars, and that would really mess up NYC's image.
"Oh all the money that e'er I spent, I spent it in good company.
And all the harm that I ever did, Alas it was to none but me.
And since it falls, unto my lot, that I should rise and you should not
I'll gently rise and I'll softly call, 'Goodnight and Joy be with you all.'"

In my travels.....I have noticed that people in FL or the south in general seem to be more of the car washer types.... For example.... when I was in Detroit last year on business.... the cars were filthy... and peeps told me that they dont wash them in the winter... only the summer.... Snow I guess?
