National Geographic webcam

Post by pamesoo »

This website is too good to keep to myself. If you like staying up late (and I know lots of ya do!), it's really great. It's a live streaming webcam at a preserve in Botswana Africa. The only bad part is that Botswana is seven hours ahead of me and I live in the Central time zone. But around 11:00 my time, the animals start moving and it's too cool to see them in their true natural environment and not in a zoo. It's probab;y great for kids to watch too. The other night I saw Zebra, bush pigs, hyena, Wildebeest, some kind of deer looking thing and Ostrich's. The crocodile was on this morning.

It may not be as fun as trying to figure out who Lisa G is, but it is a nice diversion.

Hi Ya Pamesoo!! :-)

You forgot to include tye URL as best I could tell but I take it you mean this one from Pete's Pond.

Most excellent place to visit and read how they the connection up and had to protect the cameras!
It is truly amazing that no one thought of this years ago...The way the preserve was set up I mean..... Definitely cuts back on the poachers.

A most excellent webcam to visit. I have a friend that lives in South Africa.
unfortunately he does not have the best connection to the web. he sent some photos of various things that I lost in a major computer crash!!:-((
anyway here is the link for Pete's Pond:

I love to sit and wait to see what is coming next. Thanks for including the link. I edited my post as well. Think I may want to visit Africa someday!

I would love to visit there ! I love the site. I got it from Kim Komando.
I live in EST time zone so it is currently 6 hours ahead...... drop in around 9-10 AM or around noon your time....it tells you best viewing times but weekends make good viewing...if you have the time.....

When I want to see animals I just watch the Crocodile Hunter. I thought whatever comes out of the TV must be true and real.
"Oh all the money that e'er I spent, I spent it in good company.
And all the harm that I ever did, Alas it was to none but me.
And since it falls, unto my lot, that I should rise and you should not
I'll gently rise and I'll softly call, 'Goodnight and Joy be with you all.'"
