This was an awesome show, once in a lifetime. I saw the entire show less than 8 feet from Jimmy. Front row standing. Thanks to my Latitude 38 PHIP Club phriends that put me in the front of the line with them. You guys are great. I have some great photos I will post them Friday, I'm one tired puppy. More on the show to follow....

how did you get home so fast? do you live in san francisco?
i was also at the front. i was to jimmy's right, charleston was a few feet away. i made sure to stay behind the white line.
i agree with your review. also, do you think jimmy was a bit more animated than usual?

Dude I was within feet of you. Yes, Jimmy seemed very animated, but relaxed at the same time. No rehearsed lines to the crowd, instead he genuinely interacted with the audience. He seemed thrilled and honored to play at the Fillmore West, and really enjoyed the crowd. This was better than the show in the 80's where he played as Freddy and the Fishticks at the Catalyst in Santa Cruz. This was Jimmy at his best.

well lets also tell the nice pholks who will come along later, that jimmy wore jeans and a tie dyed t shirt along with shoes that could have been hush puppies. eventually he took them off and was barefoot. did you get to touch or shake jimmy's hand? i could have at the break when jimmy retrieved his shows, but didn't think about it. 2 other people reached out, and he shook their hands.

:D :) 8) :P   :pirate:

Yes at the end when he signed that ladies paper plate. But better than that, I got a kiss from Tina on the cheek before the show.

What a night. What a show. Truly , one for the ages. Also up close, about 15 feet away front center. This was one for the ages. Just magic. He paid homage to the ghosts of the Fillmore and other Bay Area rock n roll icons . He mentioned a number of times about how special this evening was. He felt it. At times, he almost appeared overwhelmed by it all. And the crowd was great. He felt the love of the room and the people in it. What a remarkable evening.

Good to see him dust off Uncle Johns Band. I wish he would play that more often. I love his version of it. I remember him playing it at Alpine right after Jerry Garcia died and they put a picture of him on the jumbotron. Needless to say the place went nuts. Great tune!

also jimmy is using a teleprompter now. it was to his left and down in the pit. it looks to be a dell flat screen monitor, about 20 inches or bigger. so apparantly senior moments were begiining to take over more than he woulld like.

did charleston come thru your area and pull somebody out?
he seemed to be seeing things the rest of the event staffers
didn't. he would charge into the crowd and be gone for a short time.

What a GREAT show!

We were dancing & singing in the left side balcony all night.
The Fillmore and the set list were awesome! Like Jimmy it
was out first time at the Fillmore.

Dewd No I did not it is number 14 on the list. Too much tequila for you last night eh?

I was in a Hawaiian shirt, right in front of charleston, and yes there was a loud drunk jerk cursing at people around him, so charleston had to have him removed.

Sounds incredible and thanks for sharing. I toured the Fillmore a few years back when looking for a venue to hold a private show. I was awed by the place and when I heard Jimmy was going to play there...I couldn't imagine a more incredible combination. I'm really glad for those who got to go, for Jimmy and the band for having such a fun opportunity, and for those who will benefit from the funds raised.

No need to appologize Mason, it's all good. I can't believe we were all standing within feet of each other. It is a small venue, but the energy made it feel like the biggest Buffett show of the year. Hmmmmm maybe it was.
