Chili - With beans or without?
I'm talkin' chili con carne (not green chili which is deserving of it's own thread).
Growing up in Colorado, there's always beans in the chili. I didn't find out until recently, that beans weren't standard as part of chili con carne (you know, ground beef, stewed tomatoes...)

I like my chili thick, meaty, very few beans, with spagetti in it. I know. The hubby doesn't like spagetti in his, so I put a small plate with it on the table and doctor up mine. I also use Beano--good stuff, just put a few drops in the first spoonful, you can't taste it. Saves a lot of unpleasantness later.

And all the harm that I ever did, Alas it was to none but me.
And since it falls, unto my lot, that I should rise and you should not
I'll gently rise and I'll softly call, 'Goodnight and Joy be with you all.'"

With ground beef AND pinto beans!!!!!!! None of that ground turkey bs!!! I like to freeze it and let it "age for a while".... just like lasagna or spaghetti sauce or gumbo........they improve with age, Gives the seasoning and spices a chance to blend properly.
Sorry Garry... I can't eat anything that hot....I don't hate my stomach or my a.h. that much..... But if you want it hot.....I can make it so HOT I don't think you would ever tell me it wasn't hot enough again......
I cook so everyone can eat it.....if they want it hotter .... well Tobasco ain't got nothing on some this stuff..... I like Trappey's Bull La. Hot Sauce. It has a nice bite but not that much heat, but it does has the cumulative heat that will eventually work on you.
Then when ready to eat add some chopped Vidalia onion perhaps, or at least some shredded cheddar cheese on top.
