Do you miss fighting in hockey?

I remember growing up and being guaranteed of seeing at least one fight in the game and usually there would be two or three. I know, fighting shouldn't be part of the game yadda yadda yadda, but for me this was a huge draw to hockey when I was growing up and I miss it now....
Anyone else?

I thought that's the only reason people watched hockey? I mean without fighting, its just figure skating with a stick.

Old time hockey? .... Eddie Shore?
I'm listenin' to the f***in' song!! (gotta love the Hanson brothers)
Shane's right, let 'em fight!
And you notice the crowd is always totally indifferent to a fight. They usually either turn their backs or sit quietly till it's over. NOT!

F***in' machine took my quarter!.
I'd rather have them playing with their toys than playing with themselves!
My allergy...to these f***ing fans....has returned....
BEST MOVIE EVER!!!!

I voted yes, but....
...after the incident with Steve Moore and Todd Bertuzzi a few seasons back, the whole "enforcer" concept in hockey kinda bugs me. However, a few good punches during the game, especially when Danny Hinote opens a can of whoopass, is pretty cool.
I always used to say, "I'm going to the fights in hopes that a hockey game will break out."

Hockey ended for us Chicagoans years ago (thanks Dollar Bill) Local minor leaguye hockey is nothing but fights. I have gone from knowing every NHL player on every team to not being able to name any. Now the only thing I want to see on ice is a cooler of beer and/or my scotch on the rocks

new rules partly.. Used to be that if it was blatently obvious that you started the fight you got an extra 2 minutes tacked onto your 5 minutes for fighting.. Now if you so much as drop your gloves even 2 seconds before the other guy you've got a 10 minute misconduct and possibly get thrown out of the game...
That and the NHL is trying to become more TV friendly so they're pressuring players and coaches not to fight. That's working real well eh? I don't have any numbers but if I'm not mistaken, hockey ratings are in the tank...

I have also seened fights at Hurricanes games.
Maybe the ones complaining just don't realize their teams are a bunch of half-a-sissies.

To use a music analogy, I don't go to a Buffett concert hoping Dave Matthews (or anybody else) will show up. I don't go to a hockey game to see a fight.

I was at the Hawks game last night. FOr one, it was like a library in there. Granted, Sox were in the world series and the bears were at home. As for the game, minor altercations, but no fights. As an ex hockey player/goon, bring back the fights. I agree, old school hockey, Eddie SHore style, eh!

Ah, but what if you went to a Buffett concert and the Coral Reefer Dancers weren't there?

Are you seriously trying to convince me that fighting is the same now as it was then?? Come on now...
