No kidding... DIET COKE is the way of a true "rummy"!
Or at least for someone in the Atlanta area.

Dark is almost always my choice because of flavor. The only time I use light, is for a fruity or blended drink.
The number one rule; drink what tastes good to you!
This is important, cuz' if you drink too much of it...
you'll get to savor it all over again when you're huggin' the porcelain

Anejo, Barbancourt, or Mount Gay...it's funny, I generally prefer those darker rums with fruit juice.
RhumChum had some rum from Venezuela that was magnificent !!
Goslings is excellent for a fuity punch..however, it seems the darker ones you get really loaded on just a few..the clear ones don't seem to work as fast.
Parrot Bay is actually my favorite, of all....
but any kind of rum with pineapple juice will work
and..well, any kind of rum with diet Coke actually works, too..
just so it's rum..rhum
I have never had a hangover with rum..never...

OK, no one else has suggested this rum. I just found it and don't know a thing about it, except it tastes good with diet coke. It is spicy!

Words of wisdom moonie, I make a point of trying different rums but in NC, you're at the mercy of the state run liquor stores as far as selection
I agree with everything you said but my favorite mixer with Mt Gay is a few cubes of ice

and would also say that rum and cola is always better with fresh lime.
If you're in a spicy mood, Pussers always mixes well

What can I say, I know it's an Atlanta thing to drink coke but I like Pepsi better, tho I have no problem drinking my rum with diet coke also.
Until Pepsi came out with diet with lime I did use only the diet coke with lime.

Cruzan or Capt Mo with diet pepsi...
drunk and skinny at the same time

Well, technically, alcohol slows your metabolism & diet soda is high in sodium. Drink too many and you won't stay drunk & skinny for long.
Don't get technical with me and confuse me with the facts, I've used that line for many years

I just heard Sunnyjim White sing a song about Rum Jumbies. Great song!!
Has anyone ever tried this stuff?

Rum Jumbie Liqueur is an exotic blend of aged Caribbean rum with hints of tropical orange, lemon, and passion fruit; accented by delicate spices. Rum Jumbie originates from an old Caribbean recipe that spent many years hidden in the remote caves of a sugar plantation. The recipe was safe there, for the residents feared entering the dark alcoves in belief that celestial spirits or,"Jumbies," were trapped inside. Legend says that these,"Jumbies," were believed to inhabit those who enjoyed rum, hence the name, "Rum Jumbie." These boisterous individuals were famous for dancing to the beat of the conga drums until dawn. Today, Rum Jumbie Liqueur pays homage to Jumbies and conga drummers with its unique sculpted figurine bottle that contains this harmonious tropical spirit.
