I saw too much anger, nastiness, name calling, vile spewings and more coming out of COBO's Political area, and it spilled over to the Social area.

I say leave the politics off this board, only goes downhill and people get angry, nasty, pi$$ed off and creates hard feelings. There are other boards for that.

Yet many will state comments in here.

People may well hate politics, but because of lack of invovlement and voter apathy, we are where we are at. We have the Goverment we deserve. Our system was designed for people to participate. The vast majority of eligible voting populace, seldom votes or bother to edcuate themselves about the issues. In effect we are led by a minority,not the majority. Congress/Senate make and pass legislation with only the input from those that participate... not enough care to participate, and usually ignore them, so they pass legislation that benefits them and their friends.

I see no need for a special section.
If one is not interested in a particular post...One need not read it. If you don't like it then, afterall, why fuss about it, you intentionally made the choice/decision to read it....why blame someone else for a decision you made of your own freewill?

From what I've seen, every single topic with a political spin on it goes like this summary:

Dem: I like popcorn
Rep: I don't like popcorn
Dem: You are a doodyhead
Rep: You are a bigger doodyhead
MOD: This name calling is against the rules. I'm locking this thread
Dem: (Starts new thread) Why did our thread get locked? We weren't breaking rules, we were merely excercizing our right to free speech.
Rep: You're still a doodyhead.

no. cause that means they're all around us. We should send them to some island - like Rhode Island (they won't know it a penninsula - they're stupid) and then we can live freely among smart people.
