I emailed Mailboat the message below, and here is the response I got:
My message:
Hi,
I know you are planning a CD/DVD release of the Jimmy Buffett Wrigley
and Fenway shows, but will you be doing a similar thing with the
Philadelphia shows? They were awesome!
Mailboats response:
Probably not, but they will be available to download the concert within
two months at
www.mailboatrecords.com
What that means, I really have no idea, but I hope its videos we can download and not just the music!

This COULD be great news.
I've been hoping that Buffett would do something like this since he first announced plans to release live shows in '03.
I hope Mailboat takes the time to look at successful formats like
www.livephish.com or any of the other sites created by
www.nugs.net, and comes up with a nice system.
Hopefully we'll see old concerts as well as the current ones.
I gotta admit, I'm drooling thinking about the possibility.
Until then, Sirius is treaing us pretty good with no repeats on the concerrt replays as of yet and almost all of the current live shows.

I would be excited about it. But, I will believe it when I see it. I, too, have heard this is in the works. However, until I see it online, I won't get worked up.
I love Live Phish and similar services. The difference with them, though, is I could have bought 10 shows from the same tour and have a completely different setlist every night.
I'm starting to question exactly how many live versions of Margaritaville I need.

I am confused...
are we talking audio only or visual and audio????
are these sites for "pay?" or limewire free?
too much technology.. too little time.

Most likely it's audio only and I'm guessing they'll charge for it.

I'd pay a reasonable amount for a quality recording.

I wonder if you'd have to get the whole show or if they'd let you pick and choose a song or 2. I already have way too many copies of Cheeseburger In Paradise and Southern Cross, but sometimes he sneaks in a song that he doesn't do live very often, or a new cover tune. It would be nice to be able to get only the songs you really want.

The downloads most likely will be compressed. I'll stick with Sirius and get the same quality.

Wait about two years. It'll pass.

Ditto...I already downloaded it and it sounds pretty good. Now if they were to do old shows from the hollow-sounding RM era, you'd have me.

The Sirius shows are pretty good, but downloads of lossless files straight from the soundboard would sound better. I would pay to download some shows even if they were on Sirius if I knew the quality would be a little better.
I will agree that the market for this is different than the jam bands that are out there. Alot of people do get tired of getting the same songs over and over again. I enjoy the differences in tours enough that I would buy at least a couple of shows per tour, not to mention any show that I was at and any show with an unreleased cover song in it.
I'm wondering now if Jimmy might use the system at
www.munckmusic.com. I noticed that Little Feat sells downloads through them. Bill Payne might have been putting ideas in Jimmy's head while they were out on the road together.

IMO the Philly show as anything but awesome.
But If it come to fruition then it's great news, I would love a good copy of Jones Beach 2004 show.
