you're having a problem because cord #64 has been mistakenly inserted into #FG39Z. That's a fairly common problem.

This picture looks like it was taken from one of our data closets :o

Of course ours have MANY switches like this (although we use better cable managment). I'm curious what the green cable is being used for, looks like a temporary patch.

The Orange cables are the trunked fiber uplinks

I'm intimidated by your knowledge of cables.

I'm a little concerned about the bend radius on the fiber. :-?

Oh cable knowledge, well the yellow on green cables look to be Cat 6 cable and the orange cable looks to be 50/125 Optical Fiber OFNR. The switch looks like the Bay Networks ATM Router we used to have before we went with the Foundry Networks Gigabit Routers we currently use.

Are you intimidated? 8)

Actually, due to the high number, I would hope they would use SuperCAT which is both individually shielded and has an overall shielding. 8)

I work on that kind of stuff all day, the box on the top is a Cisco 3550 Ethernet switch.

Now imagine that multiplied a few hundred times, and that's what your local phone company switching office looks like (except much better cable managment, and stuff is labeled).

This thread has WAY TOO MANY serious responses and should therefore be locked. NOW.
