One of my aunts is a nun. 8) Ther are on limited incomes, so a gift certificate to a bookstore or the local mall or Wal-mart would be well appreciated.

I just asked a office mate who went to 12 yrs of Catholic schools... she said... if it is $, gift certs or similar she will have to share with the other sisters. She suggested something simple.... book, bible (catholic versian), rosary, journal and the like....

Just an FYI

Thanks so much everyone!

These have been some great, sick, funny suggestions.

I'm sure Sister will be happy with whatever Victoria decides, but I have some great suggestions to go on.

Going to Catholic school doesn't make a person an expert on nuns. :-? They don't have to share personal gifts of money, etc. I'm sure they have plenty of bibles, rosaries, etc.

They also like to go out to eat, so a gift card for Hooters would be nice.

Mal, my mom's a school teacher in a Catholic grade school with a whole bunch of nuns. I asked her and she suggested this:

-don't give money - they have to turn it into the order/convent
-gift cards to bookstores or a good book
-isotoner slippers (used to go over real big at her school)
-sweater, if she doesn't wear a habit
-... (she's going to think about it some more)

Not sure if you are still looking for idea's.....but when BFC was younger, I befriended a nun that taught her.....When I asked her what she "needed" at Christmas time, she told me that bed sheets were a great idea, like other's have said being on a fixed income they dont have the luxury to go out and buy new ones very often......

Just thought i'd throw that one out there
