because our VP wants fewer people to leave the office for "good" coffee.
Even though it costs more $$ (capital), the theory is the employees will work harder/better/more.
Thoughts?

it depends. People will like the coffee. But if they want mocha frappuccino they'll still leave to go to the local coffee place. It's a nice move on the mgmts. side. It depends on how much they think they'll get out of it.

This will actually be measurable...we'll all see if your average posts per day decreases or not...buffettbride wrote:because our VP wants fewer people to leave the office for "good" coffee.

Also, why on earth does anyone pay $4 or more for a cup of coffee?

I pay $3.50 for a grande mocha every-other Friday when I get paid. It's my special 'lil treat.

because they can? Any employer who doesn't at least provide free regular coffee, isn't worth working for.12vmanRick wrote:Mal don't worry, Frank only has a few friends so he won't go and shun youbuffettbride wrote:Shut up.rednekkPH wrote:You're now officially a yuppie pr*ck. I actually included savings on coffee that mike won't drink at work
in my rough draft proposal for working at home
I figured odds were against them having an obscure sense of humor like me so I cut it
btw, I should find out soon if that's actually a possibility, my boss liked it but we have to get it past his boss

Re: My department just switched to Starbucks coffee...
Our VP is definitely not the sharpest tool in the shed and very much NOT in touch with real working people. Not to mention, going for coffee is also largely a networking and creative opportunity. I don't think she'll see an increase in productivity, although there might be an increase in morale (but that has more to do with our improving stock price than anything else).iuparrothead wrote:dumb.buffettbride wrote:Thoughts?
