Your birthday liquor.

Post by mings »

So its no secret that a rite of passage is being blitzed beyond comprehension on your 21st for a lot of Americans. (or 18th for our old school crowd.) So what liquor did you have then that you can never have again?

For me its Goldschlager. Ugghhhhh

None.

I won't do straight shots of icky tequila like Cuervo anymore... but I can handle something smooth like Patron or even Cabo Wabo.

And upside margaritas are still okay with me!!! :D

Hmmm. I don't think I have one. Not from my 21st at least. My 21st I had lotsa Cuba Libres (which is what I still drink). I also tried a vodka martini (yuck), whollllleeeelottta shots of random stuff from boys at the bar.

In general though, the smell of whiskey just makes me hurl. Unless it's on the breath of a very sexy man. But that's a whole new fettish we won't get into right now. :D

I honestly don't remember what I did for my 21st birthday - it was too long ago. I assume I went out drankin' with friends, but it must not have been memorable, or maybe it was but I lost the evidence with killed brain cells.

But mings' reminds me that I have had a couple Holiday Work party incidents:

Hubby's work party around 8 years ago: shared a bottle of Goldschlager with one of his co-workers and apparently made quite a spectacle of myself. I don't remember the details of this either.

My work party around 4 years ago: Haacker Pschorr (sp?) Don't think I was too out of control, but it sure didn't sit well.

The thought of either of those turns my stomach... ack!

I haven't had it in a long time so I can't say if I could keep it down or not, but Rumplemintz is up there with things I couldn't drink for a long, long time.

I loooooove Goldschlager tho. :D

For a long time, I loved schnapps of just about any kind.

J&B is really marginal blended scotch... ranking right down there with Cutty Sark..

Went to my cousins bar after a Bulls game, the day before I turned 21. About 11pm the place filled up with releatives and at midnight, my cousin Johnny asked me what I wanted. "Well, I'm kinda partial to Jack Daniels" I stoopidly replied and they lined up a mile of them. I remember three.

Long story short, I woke up in the Sheraton-Chicago (yes, I was supposed to be there) in my own vomit and I don't think I have done Jack since

oh yeah, it's bad stuff. we were in college and anything more than $5 was expensive. Now I drink Johnnie walker Gold or Glenlivet 18 on special occasions......holidays after dinner, my birthday, etc. I wouldn't touch J&B these days Image
